WINDSHIELD DEICER SWITCH INSPECTION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT OUTER MIRROR HEATER SWITCH ASSEMBLY (WINDSHIELD DEICER SWITCH)


    1. Check the switch function.

        Component without harness connected

        (Outer Mirror Heater Switch Assembly (Windshield Deicer Switch))

        Measure the resistance when the switch is operated according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
        1 (IG) - 4 (ECU) Push (ON) Below 1 Ω
        1 (IG) - 4 (ECU) Not push (OFF) 10 kΩ or higher

        If the result is not as specified, replace the outer mirror heater switch assembly (windshield deicer switch).

    2. A01IH2MC05
      *a

      Component without harness connected

      (Outer Mirror Heater Switch Assembly (Windshield Deicer Switch))
      *b Indicator
      *c Illumination Area

      Check that the LED illuminates.


      1. Apply battery voltage to the outer mirror heater switch assembly (windshield deicer switch) and check that the LED illuminates.

        OK
        Measurement Condition Specified Condition

        Battery positive (+) → 1 (IG)

        Battery negative (-) → 5 (IND-)

        		 Indicator illuminates

        Battery positive (+) → 3 (ILL+)

        Battery negative (-) → 2 (ILL-)

        		 LED illuminates

        If the result is not as specified, replace the outer mirror heater switch assembly (windshield deicer switch).
