WINDOW DEFOGGER SYSTEM SYSTEM DESCRIPTION


  1. GENERAL


    1. The window defogger wires are attached to the inside of the back door glass and defog the window surface quickly when the window defogger switch on the air conditioning control assembly is pressed. The indicator light illuminates while the system is operating. The system automatically turns off after approximately 15 minutes.

      Note

      If the battery voltage becomes low, window defogger operation is canceled to prioritize supplying power to the power steering system.

      Tech Tips

      The defogger system may operate for a maximum of 45 minutes, depending on conditions such as ambient temperature, alternator output, etc.

  2. FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENT

    Component Outline
    Air Conditioning Control Assembly Sends signals to the air conditioning amplifier assembly to operate the window defogger system.
    Air Conditioning Amplifier Assembly Sends a window defogger system activation request signal to the defogger relay.
    Defogger Relay Receives a window defogger system activation request signal from the air conditioning amplifier assembly and supplies power to the back door glass (window defogger wire).
    Back Door Glass (Window Defogger Wire) Receives power from the defogger relay and heats the back door glass (widow defogger wire).
