Operate the rear power seat switches and check that the following seat functions operate properly:
Reclining function
Ottoman function (open/close)
Ottoman function (expansion/contraction)
CHECK SLIDE LOCK RELEASE FUNCTION
Note
It may be necessary to shake the rear No. 1 seat forward and backward and slide it to the lock position to securely operate the slide lock.
When the slide lock release lever is pulled, check that the slide lock of the rear No. 1 seat releases.
When the slide lock release lever is returned to its original position, check that the slide lock of the rear No. 1 seat operates.
CHECK POWER WALK IN FUNCTION
Tech Tips
Perform the inspection with the following conditions met:
Rear No. 1 seat is not operated.
Shift lever is in P or engine switch is off.*
Rear No. 1 seat is not occupied.*
Seatbelt of rear No. 1 seat is unfastened.*
*: If the conditions are not met, the buzzer sounds 2 times.

When the rear power seat switch (walk in switch) or the walk in switch of the rear control switch is pressed, check that the buzzer sounds for 0.1 seconds, the seatback of the rear No. 1 seat folds to the walk in operation position, the ottoman closes and the slide lock releases.
When the rear power seat switch (walk in switch) or the walk in return switch of the rear control switch is pressed, check that the buzzer sounds for 0.1 seconds, the seatback of the rear No. 1 seat operates to the walk in return position and the slide lock operates.
Note
It may be necessary to shake the rear No. 1 seat forward and backward and slide it to the lock position to securely operate the slide lock.
When any of the following conditions is met during power walk in operation, check that the operation stops and the slide lock operates.
Rear No. 1 seat is operated by switch operation.
Rear No. 1 seat is occupied.
Seatbelt of rear No. 1 seat is fastened.
Jam is detected by ottoman.
Note
Do not use a part of your body, for example, your hand, to check the jam protection function. Do not allow anything to become caught in the seat by accident while performing this inspection.
If a hard object, such as the handle of a hammer, is used to check the jam protection function, the rear No. 1 seat may deform or become damaged.
It may be necessary to shake the rear No. 1 seat forward and backward and slide it to the lock position to securely operate the slide lock.

Check the PTC operation inside the power seat motor.
Note
The inspection should be performed with the seat installed in the vehicle.
Perform the 4 steps below to check the full range of motion for each power seat function.
Tech Tips
The resistance of the PTC thermistor increases when a switch of the rear power seat switch is held down even after the seat has been moved to the farthest possible position in one direction. If the resistance increases beyond a specified level, the current is shut off to prevent a short circuit.
Operate the seat to the farthest position in one direction, and then wait for approximately 60 seconds.
Farther operate the seat in the same direction for 90 seconds, and then check that the motor does not operate when operating the seat in the opposite direction.
Turn the rear power seat switch off. After approximately 60 seconds, check that the motor operates when operating the seat in the opposite direction.
CHECK SEAT POSITION MEMORY AND RESTORING FUNCTION
Tech Tips
Perform the inspection with the following conditions met:
Rear No. 1 seat is not operated.
Reclining position of rear No. 1 seat is not seating prohibited position.
The seat position is not stored when any of the following conditions is met:
After SET switch is pressed, M1 switch and M2 switch are simultaneously pressed.
SET switch and either M1 switch or M2 switch are simultaneously pressed.
Reclining position of rear No. 1 seat is seating prohibited position.
During a return operation, the buzzer sounds intermittently.
Return operation of the ottoman is only performed in the close and contraction directions.

Turn the engine switch on (IG) and check that the P position indicator is on.
Operate the rear power seat switch to set the rear No. 1 seat to the desired position.
When the M1 switch is pressed with the SET switch operated or within 3 seconds of the SET switch being operated, the buzzer sounds for 0.5 seconds and the rear No. 1 seat position is stored.
Tech Tips
Press and hold the M1 switch until the buzzer sounds.
Operate the rear power seat switch to move the seatback of the rear No. 1 seat to the rearmost reclining point and the ottoman to the maximum close and contraction direction points.
When the M2 switch is pressed with the SET switch operated or within 3 seconds of the SET switch being operated, the buzzer sounds for 0.5 seconds and the rear No. 1 seat position is stored.
Tech Tips
Press and hold the M2 switch until the buzzer sounds.
Operate the ottoman switch to move the ottoman of the rear No. 1 seat to the maximum open and expansion direction points.
When the M1 switch is pressed, check that the buzzer sounds for 0.1 seconds and the rear No. 1 seat operates to the desired position (the position stored in procedure (b) and (c)).
When the M2 switch is pressed, check that the buzzer sounds for 0.1 seconds and the seatback of the rear No. 1 seat moves to the rearmost reclining point and the ottoman moves to the maximum close and contraction direction points (the positions stored in procedure (d) and (e)).
When any of the following conditions is met during the return operation, check that the operation stops.
Rear No. 1 seat is operated by switch operation.
Jam is detected by ottoman.

When the rear power seat return switch is pressed, check that the buzzer sounds for 0.1 seconds and the seatback of the rear No. 1 seat moves to the rearmost reclining point and the ottoman moves to the maximum close and contraction direction points (the positions stored in procedure (b) and (c)).

Tech Tips
After the seatback of the rear No. 1 seat is operated to the rearmost reclining point and the ottoman to the maximum close and contraction direction points, an operation is performed to clear the return stored position.
If the return switch is not held down on the 5th press, perform the procedure again from step (*1).
If the ottoman switch (close) is not pressed 5 times after 10 seconds have elapsed after the reclining switch (backward) is first pressed, perform the procedure again from step (*1).
If operations other than the following are performed, perform the procedure again from step (*1).

Press the reclining switch (backward). (*1)
With the reclining switch (backward) pressed, press the ottoman switch (close).
With the reclining switch (backward) and ottoman switch (close) pressed, press the return switch 5 times.
Tech Tips
On the 5th press, press and hold the switch.
10 seconds after the reclining switch (backward) is first pressed, check that the buzzer sounds 2 times for 0.5 seconds each and the return stored position is cleared.
