  • The front power seat control system uses the CAN communication system. First, confirm that there is no malfunction in the CAN communication system. Refer to the How to Proceed with Troubleshooting procedure.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK FRONT POWER SEAT OPERATION


    • *1: for LHD

    • *2: for RHD


    1. Check that each function of the power seat operates normally by using the front power seat switch LH*1 or RH*2.

  2. CHECK SEAT POSITION MEMORY FUNCTION


    1. Check the seat position memory function.

  3. READ VALUE USING GTS (DRIVER SEAT BUCKLE SW)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Driver Seat / Data List.

    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the GTS.


      Body Electrical > Driver Seat > Data List

      Driver Seat Buckle SW Driver seat belt buckle switch ON or OFF

      ON: Driver seat belt fastened

      OFF: Driver seat belt unfastened

      On the GTS screen, the item changes between ON and OFF according to the above.

  4. INSPECT FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the front seat inner belt assembly LH*1 or RH*2.

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH - FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND)


    • *1: for LHD

    • *2: for RHD


    1. Disconnect the W20*1 or W7*2 front power seat switch LH*1 or RH*2 connector.

    2. Disconnect the W22*1 or W9*2 front seat inner belt assembly LH*1 or RH*2 connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      for LHD
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      W20-10 (DBCL) - W22-3 (+) Always Below 1 Ω
      W20-10 (DBCL) or W22-3 (+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      W22-2 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      for RHD
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      W7-10 (DBCL) - W9-3 (+) Always Below 1 Ω
      W7-10 (DBCL) or W9-3 (+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      W9-2 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
