CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

PROCEDURE

1. INSTALL CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY LH

   
   

   1. Check that the engine switch is off.

   2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      
      

      • Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      • If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.

      

   3. Attach the clip and set the curtain shield airbag assembly LH.

   4. Temporarily install the 6 new bolts.

   5. Attach the claw to connect a new clip.

      Note

      At this time, do not push in the pin to lock the clip.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure for the other clip.

   6. Make sure that the twisting prevention line of the curtain shield airbag assembly LH and base cloth are not twisted more than one turn.

   7. Push in the pin to lock the clip.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure for the other pins.

   8. Lightly pull on the clip to check whether it is locked.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure for the other clips.

   9. Tighten the 6 bolts in the order shown in the illustration.

      Torque:

      9.8 N*m  { 100 kgf*cm, 87 in.*lbf }

      

   10. Connect the 2 airbag connector and push the connector lock.

       Note

       When connecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

2. INSTALL ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY

3. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

   Note

   When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.
