DESCRIPTION

The front floor side airbag sensor circuit consists of the airbag ECU assembly and front floor side airbag sensor.

The front floor side airbag sensor detects impacts to the vehicle and sends signals to the airbag ECU assembly to determine if the airbag should be deployed.

DTC B1665/17 is stored when a malfunction is detected in the front floor side airbag sensor circuit.

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Note


  • After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

  • When disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal while performing repairs, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK DTC


    1. Turn the engine switch off.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds.

    3. Check for DTCs.

  2. CHECK FRONT FLOOR SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR


    1. B006KW2C26
      *1 Front Floor Side Airbag Sensor
      *2 Airbag ECU Assembly

      Turn the engine switch off.

    2. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 90 seconds.

    3. Interchange the front floor side airbag sensor with a new one and connect the connectors to it.

    4. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 2 seconds.

    5. Turn the engine switch on (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds.

    6. Clear the DTCs stored in memory.

    7. Turn the engine switch off.

    8. Turn the engine switch on (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds.

    9. Check for DTCs.

    10. Turn the engine switch off.

    11. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 90 seconds.

    12. Return the front floor side airbag sensor to its original position and connect the connectors to it.
