LIGHTING SYSTEM Back Door Courtesy Switch Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) receives a back door open or closed signal from the back door courtesy light switch.

Note


  • If the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) is replaced, refer to the Service Bulletin.

  • As the door control battery is installed between the vehicle battery and main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU), first perform the inspections in On-vehicle Inspection to confirm that there are no malfunctions in the power source circuit for the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) before performing this troubleshooting procedure.

  • First, check for back door closer system, and after confirming that there is no malfunction, proceed with troubleshooting.

  1. READ VALUE USING GTS (BACK DOOR COURTESY SW)


    1. Using the GTS, read the Data List.

  2. INSPECT BACK DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY (BACK DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH)


    1. Remove the back door lock assembly (back door courtesy light switch).

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BACK DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY [BACK DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH] - JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY LH AND BODY GROUND)


    1. Disconnect the 4H junction block assembly LH connector.

    2. Disconnect the U9 back door lock assembly (back door courtesy light switch) connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      U9-8 (CTY) - 4H-36 Always Below 1 Ω
      U9-7 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

  4. INSPECT JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY LH

      Remove the junction block assembly LH.

    2. Remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) from the junction block assembly LH.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
