LIGHTING SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK


  1. INSPECT ILLUMINATED ENTRY SYSTEM OPERATION

    Note

    Perform this inspection with the customizable parameters set to the initial settings.

    Tech Tips


    • When inspecting the following functions, make sure that the map light switch and spot light switch are in the DOOR position.

    • The interior illumination light (roof color illumination) and No. 2 interior illumination light (roof color illumination) operate even when the door switch of the map light assembly is off.

    • When the interior illumination light (roof color illumination) and No. 2 interior illumination light (roof color illumination) have been turned off using the dimmer switch or multi-information display, they will not perform linked illumination.


    1. The interior light control illuminates the lights below.


      • Map light assembly

      • Spot light assembly

      • Interior illumination light sub-assembly (roof color illumination)

      • No. 2 interior illumination light sub-assembly (roof color illumination)

      • Engine switch illumination

    2. The operations and operating conditions of this control are described below.

      Operation Condition
      Lights fade in and illuminate constantly Any door is opened when all the doors are closed.
      Lights illuminate for 15 seconds, and then fade out

        When any of the following conditions is met:

      • The key is brought within any vehicle exterior detection area when the engine switch is off and all the doors are closed.*

      • Any door is unlocked when the engine switch is off and all the doors are closed and locked.

      • The engine switch is turned from on (ACC) to off when all doors are closed.

      • The state changes from any of the doors being opened to all doors being closed.

      Lights fade out immediately

        When either of the following conditions is met:

      • The engine switch is turned from off to on (ACC) when all the doors are closed.

      • All the doors are locked when the engine switch is off, all the doors are closed and any door is unlocked.

      *: When the lights are on, if the key leaves all of the actuation areas around the doors, after approximately 3 seconds, the lights fade out.

  2. INSPECT INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT CONTROL OPERATION

    Perform this inspection with the customizable parameters set to the initial settings.


    1. The interior illumination light control illuminates the lights below.


      • No. 1 interior illumination light assembly LH (footwell light)

      • No. 1 interior illumination light assembly RH (footwell light)


      1. The operations and operating conditions of this control are described below.

        Operation Condition
        Lights fade in and illuminate constantly
        • Any door is opened when all the doors are closed.

        • Lights illuminate approximately 3 seconds after engine switch is turned on (ACC).

        • The engine switch is turned from off to on (IG).

        Lights illuminate for 15 seconds, and then fade out

        When any of the following conditions is met:


        • Any door is unlocked when the engine switch is off and all the doors are closed and locked.

        • The engine switch is turned from on (ACC) to off when all doors are closed.

        • The state changes from any of the doors being opened to all doors being closed.

        Lights fade out immediately All the doors are locked when the engine switch is off, all the doors are closed and any door is unlocked.
  3. BATTERY SAVING CONTROL SYSTEM OPERATION


    1. The battery saving control (basic function) illuminates the lights and parts below.


      • Map light assembly

      • Spot light assembly

      • Interior illumination light sub-assembly (roof color illumination)

      • No. 2 interior illumination light sub-assembly (roof color illumination)

      • Courtesy light assembly RH*

      • Courtesy light assembly LH*

      1. The operation and operating condition of this control are described below.

        Operation Condition
        Battery saving (basic function) The doors remain in the same condition for 20 minutes and the key is outside the vehicle exterior detection area.
    2. The battery saving control (interior light auto cut function) illuminates the lights and parts below.


      • Map light assembly

      • Spot light assembly

      • Vanity light assembly

      • No. 1 luggage compartment light assembly RH

      • No. 1 luggage compartment light assembly LH

      • Interior illumination light sub-assembly (roof color illumination)

      • No. 2 interior illumination light sub-assembly (roof color illumination)

      • Courtesy light assembly RH

      • Courtesy light assembly LH


      1. The operation and operating condition of this control are described below.

        Operation Condition
        Battery saving (interior light auto cut function) 20 minutes has elapsed since the engine switch was turned off, regardless of whether the doors are open or closed and regardless of the map light and spot light switch position.
  4. CHECK INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT (ROOF COLOR ILLUMINATION) CONTROL OPERATION


    1. Interior Illumination Light Color Selection Operation


      1. Press the color select switch and check that 16 colors can be chosen from for the interior illumination light.

      2. Using the multi-information display, check that interior illumination light can change between 16 colors.

    2. Interior Illumination Light Illumination/Dimming Operation


      1. With the light off, press the dimmer switch of the integration control and panel assembly and check that the interior illumination light illuminates.

      2. Press the dimmer switch of the integration control and panel assembly and check that the brightness of the interior illumination light switches between 4 levels.

      3. With the light illuminated, press and hold the dimmer switch of the integration control and panel assembly and check that the interior illumination light turns off.

        Tech Tips

        While the interior illumination light is off, pressing and holding the dimmer switch of the integration control and panel assembly will not illuminate the interior illumination light.

      4. Using the multi-information display, check that the brightness of the interior illumination light switches between 4 levels.

      5. With the light illuminated, using the multi-information display, check that the interior illumination light turns off.

  5. CHECK SPOT LIGHT ASSEMBLY CONTROL OPERATION


    1. Spot Light Assembly Illumination/Dimming Operation


      1. With the light off, press the spot light assembly switch and check that the spot light assembly illuminates.

      2. Press the spot light assembly switch and check that the brightness of the spot light assembly switches between 3 levels.

      3. With the light illuminated, press and hold the spot light assembly switch and check that the spot light assembly turns off.

        Tech Tips

        While the spot light assembly is off, pressing and holding the spot light assembly switch will not illuminate the spot light assembly.

      4. With the light illuminated, using the multi-information display, check that the spot light assembly turns off.

  6. CHECK NO. 1 INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY (FOOTWELL LIGHT) CONTROL OPERATION NOTICE

    1. With the engine switch on (IG) and the shift lever in P, check that the corresponding light illuminates.

    2. With the engine switch on (IG) and the shift lever not in P, check that the corresponding light dims.

  7. CHECK NO. 2 SPOT LIGHT ASSEMBLY (READING LIGHT) CONTROL OPERATION (w/ Reading Light)


    1. No. 2 Spot Light Assembly Illumination Operation


      1. With the light off, press the ON/OFF switch of the No. 2 spot light assembly and check that the No. 2 spot light assembly illuminates.

      2. With the light illuminated, press the ON/OFF switch of the No. 2 spot light assembly and check that the No. 2 spot light assembly turns off.

    2. No. 2 Spot Light Assembly Dimming Operation


      1. With the light illuminated, press (+) or (-) on the dimmer switch of the No. 2 spot light assembly and check that the brightness of the No. 2 spot light assembly switches between 4 levels.

    3. No. 2 Spot Light Assembly Automatic Off Operation


      1. With the engine switch on (IG) and the corresponding light illuminated, turn the engine switch off and check that the illuminated light turns off after approximately 20 minutes.

        Tech Tips

        If any of the following operations is performed while the corresponding light is illuminated with the engine switch off, the automatic off operation will be canceled.


        • The engine switch is turned on (IG)

        • The ON/OFF switch of the No. 2 spot light assembly is pressed

  8. CHECK LOUNGE MODE FUNCTION (MULTI-INFORMATION DISPLAY)


    1. With the spot light assemblies off, press the switch to illuminate them.

    2. Select the setting tab and enter lounge mode from the multi-information display screen.

    3. Check that the illumination of the spot lights dims from the brightest level.
