PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL AIR CONDITIONER UNIT ASSEMBLY


    1. Temporarily install the air conditioner unit assembly to the instrument panel reinforcement assembly with the 3 bolts.

  2. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL REINFORCEMENT ASSEMBLY WITH AIR CONDITIONER UNIT ASSEMBLY

    Note


    • Be sure to support the air conditioner unit assembly when installing it because failure to do so may cause the bracket of the air conditioner unit assembly to break.

    • When installing the air conditioner unit, eliminate static electricity by touching the vehicle body to prevent the components from being damaged.

      *a Standard Position

      Temporarily install the instrument panel reinforcement assembly with air conditioner unit assembly.

    2. Align the standard position, install the drain cooler hose.

    3. Tighten the nut.

    4. Using an 8 mm hexagon wrench, tighten the 2 movable collars.

    5. Install the instrument panel reinforcement assembly with the 8 bolts.

      Torque:
      Bolt A
      12.5 N*m  { 127 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf }
      Bolt B
      18 N*m  { 184 kgf*cm, 13 ft.*lbf }
      Bolt C
      23.6 N*m  { 241 kgf*cm, 17 ft.*lbf }

  3. INSTALL DEFROSTER NOZZLE ASSEMBLY

    1. Attach the claw to install the defroster nozzle assembly.

    2. Attach the clamp.

  4. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD CAP

      *1 Instrument Panel Hole Plug
      *2 Instrument Panel Safety Pad Cap

      Install 2 new instrument panel safety pad caps.

    2. Attach the claw to install the 4 new instrument panel hole plugs.

  5. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Install the No. 1 instrument panel brace sub-assembly with the 2 screws.

    2. Install the 2 nuts.

  6. INSTALL NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL TO FLOOR BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Install the No. 2 instrument panel to floor brace sub-assembly with the 2 nuts and 2 bolts.

    2. Attach the clamp.

  7. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL TO FLOOR BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Install the No. 1 instrument panel to floor brace sub-assembly with the 2 nuts and bolt.

    2. Attach the clamp.

  8. INSTALL AIR CONDITIONER UNIT ASSEMBLY

      Tighten the 2 screws and 3 bolts in the order shown in the illustration.

  9. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE


    1. Install each bolt, nut and screw, and then connect the instrument panel wire.

    2. Connect each connector and attach each clamp.

      *B for Type B

      Install each bolt and each ground wire.

      Torque:
      for Type A
      8.4 N*m  { 86 kgf*cm, 74 in.*lbf }
      for Type B
      9.5 N*m  { 97 kgf*cm, 84 in.*lbf }

  10. INSTALL ENGINE STOP AND START ECU

  12. INSTALL REAR NO. 1 AIR DUCT

      Attach the claw to install the rear No. 1 air duct.

  13. INSTALL REAR NO. 3 AIR DUCT

      Attach the claw to install the rear No. 3 air duct.

  14. INSTALL REAR NO. 5 AIR DUCT

      Attach the claw to install the rear No. 5 air duct.

    2. Install the clip.

  15. INSTALL REAR NO. 2 AIR DUCT

      Attach the claw to install the rear No. 2 air duct.

  16. INSTALL REAR NO. 4 AIR DUCT

      Attach the claw to install the rear No. 4 air duct.

    2. Install the clip.

  17. INSTALL FRONT FLOOR SIDE PAD LH

      Attach the clip to install the front floor side pad LH.

  18. INSTALL FRONT FLOOR SIDE PAD RH

      Attach the clip to install the front floor side pad RH.

  19. INSTALL FRONT FLOOR CARPET ASSEMBLY


    1. Attach the guide to install the front floor carpet assembly to the original position as shown in the illustration.

    2. Attach each fastener.

    3. Install the clip.

    2. Tighten the 2 nuts in the order shown in the illustration.

  36. CONNECT HEATER GROMMET

    1. Press the marked parts to attach the claw and install the heater grommet.

      Note


      • Securely install the heater grommet in order to prevent water ingress.

      • Install the heater grommet so that there is no clearance between the grommet and heater pipe.

  37. CONNECT HEATER WATER HOSE OUTLET

      *c Clip Installation Angle (90°)

      Connect the heater water hose outlet with the marking facing left and attach the clip within the area shown in the illustration.

      Note

      Do not apply excessive force to the heater water hose outlet.

  38. CONNECT HEATER WATER HOSE INLET

      Connect the heater water hose inlet with the marking facing left and attach the clip within the area shown in the illustration.

      Note

      Do not apply excessive force to the heater water hose inlet.

  39. CONNECT NO. 2 AIR CONDITIONER TUBE AND ACCESSORY ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the vinyl tape from the No. 2 air conditioner tube and accessory assembly.

    2. Sufficiently apply compressor oil to a new O-ring and the fitting surface of the No. 2 air conditioner tube and accessory assembly.

      Compressor Oil
      ND-OIL 8 or equivalent

    3. Install the O-ring to the No. 2 air conditioner tube and accessory assembly.

      Note

      Keep the O-rings and O-ring fitting surfaces free of foreign matter.

      Connect the No. 2 air conditioner tube and accessory assembly.

  40. CONNECT AIR CONDITIONER TUBE AND ACCESSORY ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the vinyl tape from the air conditioner tube and accessory assembly.

    2. Sufficiently apply compressor oil to a new O-ring and the fitting surface of the air conditioner tube and accessory assembly.

      Compressor Oil
      ND-OIL 8 or equivalent

    3. Install the O-ring to the air conditioner tube and accessory assembly.

      Note

      Keep the O-rings and O-ring fitting surfaces free of foreign matter.

      Connect the air conditioner tube and accessory assembly.

      Rotate the hook connector as shown in the illustration.

    6. Insert the pipe joint into the fitting hole securely and tighten the bolt.

      Torque:
      5.4 N*m  { 55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf }
