AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM ECO Switch Circuit

DESCRIPTION

When the combination switch assembly (ECO mode switch) is turned on, the air conditioning amplifier assembly receives a combination switch assembly (ECO mode switch) ON signal and controls the air conditioning to enhance fuel efficiency.

Note

When the battery is disconnected, or the servo motor or air conditioning amplifier assembly is replaced, be sure to perform servo motor initialization.

PROCEDURE


  1. READ VALUE USING GTS (ECO SWITCH)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Air Conditioner / Data List.

    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the GTS.


      Body Electrical > Air Conditioner > Data List

      ON: Combination switch assembly (ECO mode switch) being turned and held at ECO position

      OFF: Combination switch assembly (ECO mode switch) not turned

      Combination switch assembly (ECO mode switch) condition displayed on the GTS changes with the actual switch operation.

  2. INSPECT COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY (ECO MODE SWITCH)


    1. Remove the combination switch assembly (ECO mode switch).

    2. Inspect the combination switch assembly (ECO mode switch).

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY [ECO MODE SWITCH] - AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND)


    1. Disconnect the G23 combination switch assembly (ECO mode switch) connector.

    2. Disconnect the G36 air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G23-3 - G36-4 (ECON) Always Below 1 Ω
      G23-9 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      G23-3 or G36-4 (ECON) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
