AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM Rear Blower Motor Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The cooling unit with fan motor sub-assembly is operated by signals from the air conditioning amplifier. Rear blower motor speed signals are transmitted in accordance with changes in the duty ratio.

  • Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

  • When the battery is disconnected or the air conditioning amplifier assembly is replaced, be sure to perform servo motor initialization.

PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS (REAR BLOWER MOTOR)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Air Conditioner / Active Test.

    5. Check the operation by referring to the table below.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BLOWER MOTOR CONTROL - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)

      Disconnect the blower motor control connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      L17-6 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

    1. Disconnect the L17 blower motor control connector.

    2. Disconnect the G38 air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L17-3 (SI) - G38-26 (BLWH) Always Below 1 Ω
      L17-3 (SI) or G38-26 (BLWH) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR BLOWER WITH FAN MOTOR SUB-ASSEMBLY - BLOWER MOTOR CONTROL AND BODY GROUND)


    1. Disconnect the L8 rear blower with fan motor sub-assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the L17 blower motor control connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L8-2 - L17-2 (VM) Always Below 1 Ω
      L8-1 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      L8-2 or L17-2 (VM) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
