PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK MICROPHONE (OPERATION CHECK)

      Enter the "Microphone Check" screen. Refer to Check Microphone in Operation Check.

      Click here

    2. When a voice is input into the microphone, check that the microphone input level meter changes according to the input voice.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - TELEPHONE MICROPHONE ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the F39 radio and display receiver assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the S18 telephone microphone assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F39-6 (SNS2) - S18-3 (SNS2) Always Below 1 Ω
      F39-4 (MACC) - S18-1 (MACC) Always Below 1 Ω
      F39-5 (MIN+) - S18-2 (MCO+) Always Below 1 Ω
      F39-19 (MIN-) - S18-4 (MCO-) Always Below 1 Ω
      F39-6 (SNS2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F39-4 (MACC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  3. INSPECT RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY


    1. Reconnect the F39 radio and display receiver assembly connector.

    2. Reconnect the S18 telephone microphone assembly connector.

  5. INSPECT TELEPHONE MICROPHONE ASSEMBLY


    1. Reconnect the F39 radio and display receiver assembly connector.

    2. Reconnect the S18 telephone microphone assembly connector.

    3. Turn the engine switch to ACC.

      Connect an oscilloscope to terminals 13 (MIC+) and 12 (MIC-) of the S18 telephone microphone assembly connector.

    5. Check the waveform of the telephone microphone assembly using the oscilloscope.

  6. REPLACE TELEPHONE MICROPHONE ASSEMBLY


    1. Replace the telephone microphone assembly with a new or known good one.

    2. Check if the same malfunction recurs.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    1. Reconnect the F39 radio and display receiver assembly connector.

    2. Reconnect the S18 telephone microphone assembly connector.
