REAR DOOR SPEAKER INSPECTION

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT REAR SPEAKER ASSEMBLY

   
   

   1. Visually check the rear speaker assembly.

      OK
      The cone paper of the rear speaker assembly is not torn.

   2. Check the resistance.

      
      
      1. 

         *a	Component without harness connected (Rear Speaker Assembly)

         Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

         Standard Resistance
         w/o Front Center Speaker Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 1 - 2 Always 4 Ω
         w/ Front Center Speaker Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 1 - 2 Always 3.2 to 5.2 Ω

         If the result is not as specified, replace the rear speaker assembly.

2. INSPECT REAR NO.2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (w/o Front Center Speaker)

   
   

   1. Visually check the rear No. 2 speaker assembly.

      OK
      The cone paper of the rear No. 2 speaker assembly is not torn.

   2. Check the resistance.

      
      
      1. 

         *a	Component without harness connected (rear No. 2 speaker assembly)

         Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

         Standard Resistance
         Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 1 - 3 Always 3.4 to 5.2 Ω 2 - 1 Always Below 1 Ω 4 - 3 Always Below 1 Ω

         If the result is not as specified, replace the rear No. 2 speaker assembly.

   3. When there is a possibility that either the right or left speaker is malfunctioning, interchange the speakers and perform an inspection. If the malfunction disappears after interchanging the speakers, replace the malfunctioning speaker.

      Tech Tips

      Connect all connectors to the speakers when performing an inspection. If the result is not as specified, replace the speaker.

3. INSPECT REAR NO.2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (w/ Front Center Speaker)

   
   

   1. Visually check the rear No. 2 speaker assembly.

      OK
      The cone paper of the rear No. 2 speaker assembly is not torn.

   2. Check the resistance.

      
      
      1. 

         *a	Component without harness connected (rear No. 2 speaker assembly)

         Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

         Standard Resistance
         Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 1 - 4 Always 4.6 to 5.2 Ω 2 - 1 Always Below 1 Ω 4 - 3 Always Below 1 Ω

         If the result is not as specified, replace the rear No. 2 speaker assembly.

   3. When there is a possibility that either the right or left speaker is malfunctioning, interchange the speakers and perform an inspection. If the malfunction disappears after interchanging the speakers, replace the malfunctioning speaker.

      Tech Tips

      Connect all connectors to the speakers when performing an inspection. If the result is not as specified, replace the speaker.
