BRAKE PEDAL(for RHD) INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL BRAKE PEDAL PAD

  2. INSTALL BRAKE PEDAL SUPPORT ASSEMBLY


    1. Push the brake booster assembly toward the engine compartment, and install the brake pedal support assembly while avoiding the stud bolts of the brake booster assembly.

      Note


      • Do not apply excessive force to the brake lines.

      • Do not drop the brake booster assembly.

    2. Install the brake pedal support assembly with the 4 nuts.

      Torque:
      12.7 N*m  { 130 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf }

    3. Install the brake pedal support assembly to the instrument panel reinforcement assembly with the bolt.

      Torque:
      23.6 N*m  { 241 kgf*cm, 17 ft.*lbf }

    4. Engage the clamp and connect the connector to the brake pedal support assembly.

  3. INSTALL PUSH ROD PIN

      B006N7C Lithium Soap Base Glycol Grease

      Apply lithium soap base glycol grease to the push rod pin.

    2. B006OEQ

      Connect the brake master cylinder push rod clevis to the brake pedal support assembly with the push rod pin as shown in the illustration and install a new clip.

      Note

      Install the push rod pin in the correct direction.

  4. INSTALL BRAKE PEDAL RETURN SPRING

      Install the brake pedal return spring to the brake pedal support assembly as shown in the illustration.

      Note

      Install the brake pedal return spring in the correct direction.

  5. INSTALL STOP LIGHT SWITCH MOUNTING ADJUSTER

  7. INSTALL LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

  8. INSTALL BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  9. BLEED BRAKE SYSTEM

  10. INSPECT AND ADJUST BRAKE PEDAL
