MAIN BODY ECU INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note


    • Before replacing the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU), refer to Service Bulletin.

    • After the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) has been replaced, the automatic light control system will not operate until the engine is started.

  2. INSTALL MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU)

    Note


    • Make sure that the connecting surfaces are free of foreign matter.

    • Do not touch the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.

      Set the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) to the position where the guide of the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) contacts the housing sidewall of the junction block assembly LH as shown in the illustration.

      Tech Tips

      Make sure to keep the angle at 20° or more as shown in the illustration.

      Slide the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) along the housing sidewall as shown in the illustration and engage the 2 guides.

      While keeping the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) in contact with side A of the junction block assembly LH (axis of rotation), lower it as shown in the illustration.

      *2 Main Body ECU (Multiplex Network Body ECU)
      *a Push Area

      Press the push area until the claw engages to install the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU).

      Note


      • Make sure to press only the push area.

      • Confirm the engagement of the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) and junction block assembly LH by listening for the click sound of the lock engaging.

      Tech Tips

      If a click sound cannot be heard, visually check the engagement of the lock. The engagement can also be confirmed if the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) and junction block assembly LH are flush.

  3. INSTALL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY LH WITH MAIN BODY ECU (for LHD)

      Connect the connector and push down the lock lever to engage the claw and lock the connector as shown in the illustration.

      Note

      Be sure to connect the connector securely.

    2. w/ Connector Lock:

        Slide the connector lock to engage the claw as shown in the illustration.

      Connect the connector and push down the lock lever to engage the claw and lock the connector as shown in the illustration.

      Note

      Be sure to connect the connector securely.

    4. Engage the 2 claws to connect the junction block assembly LH with main body ECU.

      Install the junction block assembly LH with main body ECU with the bolt and nut.

      Torque:
      Bolt
      13 N*m  { 133 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf }
      Nut
      12.5 N*m  { 127 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf }

    6. Engage the clamp.

      Connect the connector and raise the lock lever to engage the claw and lock the connector as shown in the illustration.

      Note

      Be sure to connect the connector securely.

      Connect the connector and raise the lock lever to engage the claw and lock the connector as shown in the illustration.

      Note

      Be sure to connect the connector securely.

    9. Connect each connector.

      Note

      Be sure to connect each connector securely.

  4. INSTALL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY LH WITH MAIN BODY ECU (for RHD)

      Connect the connector and push down the lock lever to engage the claw and lock the connector as shown in the illustration.

      Note

      Be sure to connect the connector securely.

    2. w/ Connector Lock:

        Slide the connector lock to engage the claw as shown in the illustration.

      Connect the connector and push down the lock lever to engage the claw and lock the connector as shown in the illustration.

      Note

      Be sure to connect the connector securely.

    4. Engage the 2 claws to connect the junction block assembly LH with main body ECU.

      Install the junction block assembly LH with main body ECU with the bolt and nut.

      Torque:
      Bolt
      13 N*m  { 133 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf }
      Nut
      12.5 N*m  { 127 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf }

      Connect the connector and raise the lock lever to engage the claw and lock the connector as shown in the illustration.

      Note

      Be sure to connect the connector securely.

      Note

    8. Connect each connector.

      Be sure to connect each connector securely.

    9. Engage the clamp.

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.
