DESCRIPTION

The ECM determines the battery SOC (state of charge) according to the voltage of the BATT terminal while the engine is running (not cranking).

Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK ANY OTHER DTCS OUTPUT


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Trouble Codes.

    5. Read the DTCs.


      Powertrain > Engine > Trouble Codes

      Result Proceed to
      Only DTC P1602 is output A
      DTC P1602 and other DTCs are output B

      If any DTCs other than P1602 are output, troubleshoot those DTCs first.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT)


    1. Disconnect the A53 ECM connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
