REAR LOWER ARM INSTALLATION

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  • The following procedure is for the LH side.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL NO. 5 FLEXIBLE HOSE BRACKET


    1. Install the No. 5 flexible hose bracket to the rear No. 2 suspension arm assembly with the bolt.

      Torque:
      17.8 N*m  { 182 kgf*cm, 13 ft.*lbf }

  2. INSTALL NO. 6 FLEXIBLE HOSE BRACKET


    1. Install the No. 6 flexible hose bracket to the rear No. 2 suspension arm assembly with the bolt.

      Torque:
      17.8 N*m  { 182 kgf*cm, 13 ft.*lbf }

  3. TEMPORARILY INSTALL REAR NO. 2 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY

      Temporarily install the rear No. 2 suspension arm assembly to the rear suspension member sub-assembly with the rear No. 2 suspension toe adjust plate, rear suspension toe adjust cam sub-assembly and the bolt.

      Note


      • Insert the rear suspension toe adjust cam sub-assembly from the rear of the vehicle.

      • When tightening the bolt, keep the rear No. 2 suspension toe adjust plate from rotating.

  4. INSTALL REAR LOWER COIL SPRING INSULATOR

  5. INSTALL REAR COIL SPRING

  6. INSTALL STABILIZER LINK SUB-ASSEMBLY

  7. INSTALL REAR FLEXIBLE HOSE

  8. TEMPORARILY INSTALL REAR NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY

      *b Jack

      Using a jack and a wooden block, support the rear No. 2 suspension arm assembly.

      Note


      • When jacking up the rear No. 2 suspension arm assembly, be sure to jack it up slowly.

      • Make sure to perform this operation with the vehicle kept as low as possible.

    2. B006PDU

      Temporarily install the rear No. 1 suspension arm assembly to the rear axle carrier sub-assembly and rear suspension member sub-assembly with the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.

      Note


      • Because the nut has its own stopper, do not turn the nut. Tighten the bolt with the nut secured.

      • Insert the bolt with the threaded end facing the rear of the vehicle.

  9. STABILIZE SUSPENSION

  10. INSTALL REAR NO. 2 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY

      Install the rear No. 2 suspension arm assembly (rear axle carrier sub-assembly side) with the bolt.

      Torque:
      125 N*m  { 1275 kgf*cm, 92 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      Because the nut has its own stopper, do not turn the nut. Tighten the bolt with the nut secured.

  11. INSTALL REAR NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY


    1. B006NBN

      Install the rear No. 1 suspension arm assembly with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      125 N*m  { 1275 kgf*cm, 92 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      Because the nut has its own stopper, do not turn the nut. Tighten the bolt with the nut secured.

  12. INSTALL REAR HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the rear height control sensor sub-assembly to the rear No. 1 suspension arm assembly with the bolt.

      Torque:
      12 N*m  { 122 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf }

  13. INSTALL LOWER NO. 1 CONTROL ARM COVER


    1. Install the lower No. 1 control arm cover to the rear No. 1 suspension arm assembly with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      12 N*m  { 122 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf }

  14. INSTALL LOWER NO. 2 CONTROL ARM COVER


    1. Install the lower No. 2 control arm cover to the rear No. 2 suspension arm assembly with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      12 N*m  { 122 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf }

  15. INSTALL REAR WHEEL

  16. INSTALL REAR NO. 2 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY

      *a Matchmark

      Install the rear No. 2 suspension arm assembly (rear suspension member sub-assembly side) with the bolt.

      Torque:
      125 N*m  { 1275 kgf*cm, 92 ft.*lbf }

      Note


      • Align the matchmarks on the rear No. 2 suspension toe adjust plate, rear suspension toe adjust cam sub-assembly and rear suspension member sub-assembly.

      • Hold the rear No. 2 suspension toe adjust plate while rotating the bolt.

      • Tighten the bolt while the vehicle is unloaded.

  17. INSPECT AND ADJUST REAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT

  18. PERFORM INITIALIZATION


    1. Initialization of the headlight ECU sub-assembly LH.
