REAR COIL SPRING REMOVAL

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization, or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed, installed, or replaced during the rear coil spring removal/installation are shown below.

Rear wheel alignment adjustment
  1. Clear zero point calibration data and store system information.

  2. Perform yaw rate and acceleration sensor zero point calibration and store system information.


  • VSC disabled or malfunctions

  • DTCs are stored

  • Slip indicator light illuminates

  • ABS warning light illuminates

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE REAR WHEEL

  2. REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 CONTROL ARM COVER

    Click here

  3. SEPARATE REAR FLEXIBLE HOSE

      Remove the 2 bolts and separate the rear flexible hose from the No. 5 flexible hose bracket and No. 6 flexible hose bracket.

  4. SEPARATE STABILIZER LINK SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 2 nuts and separate the stabilizer link sub-assembly from the rear No. 2 suspension arm assembly.

  5. REMOVE REAR COIL SPRING

      *a Matchmark

      Place matchmarks on the rear No. 2 suspension toe adjust plate, rear suspension toe adjust cam sub-assembly and rear suspension member sub-assembly.

    2. Loosen the bolt (rear suspension member sub-assembly side) of the rear No. 2 suspension arm assembly.

      Note

      Hold the rear No. 2 suspension toe adjust plate while rotating the bolt.

      Using a jack and a wooden block, support the rear No. 2 suspension arm assembly.

      Note


      • When jacking up the rear No. 2 suspension arm assembly, be sure to jack it up slowly.

      • Make sure to perform this operation with the vehicle kept as low as possible.

    4. B006P8X

      Remove the bolt and nut, and separate the rear No. 2 suspension arm assembly from the rear axle carrier sub-assembly.

      Note

      Because the nut has its own stopper, do not turn the nut. Loosen the bolt with the nut secured.

    5. Slowly lower the rear No. 2 suspension arm assembly, and then remove the rear coil spring.

  6. REMOVE REAR UPPER COIL SPRING INSULATOR

      Remove the rear upper coil spring insulator from the vehicle.

  7. REMOVE REAR LOWER COIL SPRING INSULATOR

      Remove the rear lower coil spring insulator from the rear No. 2 suspension arm assembly.
