PROCEDURE
TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN FRONT LOWER NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (for 2AR-FE)
Temporarily install the front lower No. 1 suspension arm sub-assembly LH to the front suspension crossmember sub-assembly with the 2 bolts and nut.
Note
Because the nut has its own stopper, do not turn the nut. Tighten the bolt with the nut secured.
TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN FRONT LOWER NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY RH (for 2AR-FE)
Tech Tips
Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.
INSTALL FRONT LOWER NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (for 2GR-FKS)
Tech Tips
As the bolt on the front of the front lower No. 1 suspension arm sub-assembly LH cannot be fully tightened on the vehicle, fully tighten the bolt before the front suspension crossmember sub-assembly is installed to the vehicle.
Temporarily install the front lower No. 1 suspension arm sub-assembly LH to the front suspension crossmember sub-assembly with the 2 bolts and nut.
Note
Because the nut has its own stopper, do not turn the nut. Tighten the bolt with the nut secured.
Position the front suspension crossmember sub-assembly on a level surface.
Using a vernier caliper, measure height *1 and *2.
Note
Perform this procedure after installing the front suspension member front brace LH and front suspension member front brace RH.
Check that height *2 is lower than *1 by 10 mm.
Position the front lower No. 1 suspension arm sub-assembly LH so that height *3 is the same as *1.
Tighten the bolt (A).
TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN FRONT LOWER NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY RH (for 2GR-FKS)
Temporarily install the front lower No. 1 suspension arm sub-assembly RH to the front suspension crossmember sub-assembly with the 2 bolts and nut.
Note
Because the nut has its own stopper, do not turn the nut. Tighten the bolt with the nut secured.
INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION CROSSMEMBER SUB-ASSEMBLY
FULLY TIGHTEN FRONT LOWER NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (for 2AR-FE)
| *a | Torque Wrench Fulcrum Length |
|
Turn |
Using SST, fully tighten the bolt (A).
Note
This torque value is effective when SST is parallel to the torque wrench.
Tech Tips
Calculate the torque wrench reading when changing the fulcrum length of the torque wrench.
When using SST (fulcrum length of 200 mm (7.87 in.)) + torque wrench (fulcrum length of 600 mm (1.97 ft.)):
175 N*m (1785 kgf*cm, 129 ft.*lbf)
Fully tighten the bolt (B).
Note
Because the nut has its own stopper, do not turn the nut. Tighten the bolt with the nut secured.
