FRONT LOWER SUSPENSION ARM INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE

  1. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN FRONT LOWER NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (for 2AR-FE)

    1. Temporarily install the front lower No. 1 suspension arm sub-assembly LH to the front suspension crossmember sub-assembly with the 2 bolts and nut.

      Note

Because the nut has its own stopper, do not turn the nut. Tighten the bolt with the nut secured.

  2. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN FRONT LOWER NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY RH (for 2AR-FE)

    Tech Tips

Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

  3. INSTALL FRONT LOWER NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (for 2GR-FKS)

    Tech Tips

As the bolt on the front of the front lower No. 1 suspension arm sub-assembly LH cannot be fully tightened on the vehicle, fully tighten the bolt before the front suspension crossmember sub-assembly is installed to the vehicle.

    1. Temporarily install the front lower No. 1 suspension arm sub-assembly LH to the front suspension crossmember sub-assembly with the 2 bolts and nut.

      Note

Because the nut has its own stopper, do not turn the nut. Tighten the bolt with the nut secured.

    2. Position the front suspension crossmember sub-assembly on a level surface.

    3. Using a vernier caliper, measure height *1 and *2.

      B006PO6C01

      Note

Perform this procedure after installing the front suspension member front brace LH and front suspension member front brace RH.

    4. Check that height *2 is lower than *1 by 10 mm.

    5. Position the front lower No. 1 suspension arm sub-assembly LH so that height *3 is the same as *1.

    6. Tighten the bolt (A).

      Torque:
      233 N*m  { 2376 kgf*cm, 172 ft.*lbf }
  4. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN FRONT LOWER NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY RH (for 2GR-FKS)

    1. Temporarily install the front lower No. 1 suspension arm sub-assembly RH to the front suspension crossmember sub-assembly with the 2 bolts and nut.

      Note

Because the nut has its own stopper, do not turn the nut. Tighten the bolt with the nut secured.
