TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY


    1. Pass the transmission control cable assembly into the vehicle and install the transmission control cable assembly to the vehicle body with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      5.0 N*m  { 51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf }

    2. Connect the transmission control cable assembly to the vehicle body with the 2 nuts.

      Torque:
      5.0 N*m  { 51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf }

      Turn the transmission control shaft lever clockwise until it stops, then turn it counterclockwise 2 notches to N.

    4. Connect the transmission control cable assembly to the transmission control shaft lever with the nut.

      Torque:
      12 N*m  { 122 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf }

    5. Install a new clip to the No. 1 transmission control cable bracket.

    6. Turn the nut approximately 180° counterclockwise. While holding the nut in place, push in the stopper until it clicks twice.

      Note

      If the stopper cannot be pushed in, slightly turn the nut clockwise and then push in the stopper again.

    7. Connect the transmission control cable assembly to the shift lever assembly. Check that the spring is positioned at (A) and push in the stopper.

      Note


      • If the stopper cannot be pushed in, slightly turn the nut clockwise and then push in the stopper again.

      • Make sure that the transmission control cable assembly is securely locked.

      Connect the transmission control cable assembly to the shift lever assembly.

      Note


      • The shift lever should be in N.

      • Connect the transmission control cable assembly all the way to the base of the pin.

  2. INSTALL NO. 1 DASH PANEL HEAT INSULATOR


    1. Install the No. 1 dash panel heat insulator to the vehicle body with the 3 nuts.

      Torque:
      6.0 N*m  { 61 kgf*cm, 53 in.*lbf }

  3. INSTALL FRONT NO. 3 EXHAUST PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  4. CONNECT HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR CONNECTOR (for Bank 1)

  5. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY

  6. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  7. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE

  8. INSTALL BATTERY

  9. INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  10. INSTALL CENTER NO. 1 COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER

  11. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  12. INSPECT SHIFT LEVER POSITION

  13. ADJUST SHIFT LEVER POSITION

  14. INSPECT FOR EXHAUST GAS LEAK
