PROCEDURE
INSPECT ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE SENSOR (VACUUM SENSOR ASSEMBLY)
Check the atmospheric pressure.
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the engine switch on (IG).
Turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: Chassis / ABS/VSC/TRC / Data List / Atmospheric Pressure.
Tester Display
---
Atmospheric Pressure
Read the values displayed on the GTS.
OK
---
Equivalent to atmospheric pressure.
Tech Tips
Standard atmospheric pressure is 101 kPa(abs) [758 mmHg(abs)].
For every 100 m (328 ft) increase in altitude, pressure drops by 1 kPa (7.5 mmHg). This varies by weather.
While applying a vacuum of 67 kPa(abs) [503 mmHg(abs)] to the atmospheric pressure sensor (vacuum sensor assembly) using a vacuum pump, measure the atmospheric pressure.
OK
---
23 to 38 kPa(abs) [173 to 285 mmHg(abs)]
Tech Tips
If the result is not as specified, replace the atmospheric pressure sensor (vacuum sensor assembly).
