AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE SYSTEM DTC CHECK / CLEAR

Note

When the diagnosis system is changed from normal mode to check mode or vice versa, all DTCs and freeze frame data recorded in normal mode are cleared. Before changing modes, always check and make a note of DTCs and freeze frame data.

Tech Tips


  • DTCs which are stored in the TCM can be displayed on the GTS. The GTS can display the current and pending DTCs.

  • Some DTCs are not stored if the TCM does not detect the same malfunction again during a consecutive driving cycle. However, such malfunctions, detected during only one driving cycle, are stored as pending DTCs.


  1. CHECK DTC


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / ECT / Trouble Codes.


      Powertrain > ECT > Trouble Codes

    5. Check for DTC(s) and freeze frame data, and write them down.

    6. Check the details of the DTC(s).

  2. CLEAR DTC (When Using GTS)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / ECT / Trouble Codes.


      Powertrain > ECT > Clear DTCs

    5. Clear the DTCs.

  3. CLEAR DTC (When not Using GTS)


    1. Perform either of the following operations:

      After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

      1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal for more than 1 minute.

      2. Remove the EFI-MAIN fuse from the No. 1 engine room relay block located inside the engine compartment for more than 1 minute.
