STOP AND START SYSTEM(for 2GR-FKS) Neutral Position Switch Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The engine stop and start ECU uses the park/neutral position switch assembly installed to the automatic transaxle assembly to detect when the shift lever is in P or N.

Note


  • Before replacing the engine stop and start ECU, read the number of starter operations and write it into a new engine stop and start ECU.

  • After replacing the engine stop and start ECU or air conditioning amplifier assembly, reset and perform learning of the air conditioning information in the engine stop and start ECU.

  • After replacing the engine stop and start ECU or airbag ECU assembly, clear and calibrate the deceleration sensor zero point in the engine stop and start ECU.

  • When the engine stop and start ECU or oil pump with solenoid assembly is replaced, check the oil pump with solenoid assembly.

PROCEDURE


  1. READ VALUE USING GTS (NEUTRAL SWITCH)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Stop and Start / Data List / Neutral Switch.


      Powertrain > Stop and Start > Data List
      Tester Display
      Neutral Switch
    5. In accordance with the display on the GTS, read the Data List.

  2. INSPECT PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY


    1. Inspect the park/neutral position switch assembly.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ENGINE STOP AND START ECU - PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the engine stop and start ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the park/neutral position switch assembly connector.

    3. Disconnect the ECM connector.

    4. Disconnect the certification ECU (smart key ECU Assembly) connector.

    5. Remove the ST NO. 1 relay from the No. 1 engine room relay block.

    6. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      A60-21 (STA) - D80-9 (L) Always Below 1 Ω
      A60-17 (CLL) - D80-4 (B) Always Below 1 Ω
      A60-21 (STA) or D80-9 (L) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
