STARTER INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL STARTER ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the starter assembly with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      37 N*m  { 377 kgf*cm, 27 ft.*lbf }

    2. Connect the wire harness clamp bracket with the bolt.

      Torque:
      13 N*m  { 133 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf }

    3. Connect the starter assembly connector.

    4. Connect terminal 30 with the nut.

      Torque:
      9.8 N*m  { 100 kgf*cm, 87 in.*lbf }

    5. Install the terminal cap.

  2. INSTALL BATTERY CARRIER SUPPORT


    1. Install the battery carrier support with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      20 N*m  { 204 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf }

  3. INSTALL BATTERY CARRIER


    1. B006ME5N01

      Install the battery carrier with the 5 bolts.

      Torque:
      Bolt (A)
      8.0 N*m  { 82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf }
      Bolt (B)
      20 N*m  { 204 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf }

    2. Engage the 2 clamps.

  4. INSTALL BATTERY


    1. Install the battery clamp bolt to the battery carrier.

    2. Install the battery and battery tray.

    3. Install the battery insulator to the battery.

    4. Install the battery clamp sub-assembly with the bolt and nut.

      Torque:
      Bolt
      21 N*m  { 214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf }
      Nut
      4.9 N*m  { 50 kgf*cm, 43 in.*lbf }

    5. Engage the 2 clamps to the battery clamp sub-assembly.

    6. Connect the cable to the positive (+) battery terminal and tighten the nut.

      Torque:
      5.4 N*m  { 55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf }

    7. Engage the 2 claws to close the battery terminal cap.

  5. INSTALL CENTER NO. 1 COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER

  6. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.
