VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM, Diagnostic DTC:C147A, C147B, C147C

DTC Code DTC Name
C147A Atmospheric Pressure Sensor Circuit Low
C147B Atmospheric Pressure Sensor Circuit High
C147C Abnormal Power Supply Voltage in Atmospheric Pressure Sensor

DESCRIPTION

The atmospheric pressure sensor (vacuum sensor assembly) detects atmospheric pressure.

If a malfunction is detected in the atmospheric pressure sensor (vacuum sensor assembly), the fail-safe function prohibits ABS, brake assist, TRC and VSC, and turns the warning and slip indicator lights on.

Tech Tips

EBD control will continue to the extent that EBD control is possible even after ABS is prohibited.

DTC No. Detection Item DTC Detection Condition Trouble Area Note
C147A Atmospheric Pressure Sensor Circuit Low The atmospheric pressure sensor input voltage is less than 0.7 V for 1.2 seconds or more.
  • Wire harness or connector

  • Atmospheric pressure sensor (vacuum sensor assembly)

  • Skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly)

for 2AR-FE
C147B Atmospheric Pressure Sensor Circuit High The atmospheric pressure sensor input voltage is more than 4.2 V for 1.2 seconds or more.
  • Wire harness or connector

  • Atmospheric pressure sensor (vacuum sensor assembly)

  • Skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly)

PROCEDURE

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY - ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE SENSOR (VACUUM SENSOR ASSEMBLY))

    1. Make sure that there is no looseness at the locking part and the connecting part of the connectors.

    2. Disconnect the A50 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.

    3. Disconnect the A52 atmospheric pressure sensor (vacuum sensor assembly) connector.

    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A50-7 (VSM2) - A52-3 (VC) Always Below 1 Ω
A50-7 (VSM2) or A52-3 (VC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A50-32 (VSI2) - A52-2 (PB) Always Below 1 Ω
A50-32 (VSI2) or A52-2 (PB) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A50-9 (VSG2) - A52-1 (E2) Always Below 1 Ω
