VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM, Diagnostic DTC:C1436

DTC Code DTC Name
C1436 Yaw Rate Sensor Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

The skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) receives signals from the yaw rate and acceleration sensor (airbag ECU assembly) via the CAN communication system.

The airbag ECU assembly has a built-in yaw rate and acceleration sensor and detects the vehicle's condition using 2 circuits (GL1, GL2).

If there is trouble in the bus lines between the acceleration sensor (airbag ECU assembly) and the CAN communication system, DTC U0124 (Lost Communication with Lateral Acceleration Sensor Module) is set.

These DTCs are also output when calibration has not been completed.

DTC No. Detection Item DTC Detection Condition Trouble Area Note
C1436 Yaw Rate Sensor Malfunction

Either of the following is detected:

  1. With the vehicle stationary, the yaw rate and acceleration sensor output value is not 0 deg/s.

  2. Abnormal comparison value.

  • Improper yaw rate sensor (airbag ECU assembly) installation

  • Yaw rate sensor (airbag ECU assembly)

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Note

When replacing the yaw rate and acceleration sensor (airbag ECU assembly), perform zero point calibration and store system information.

PROCEDURE

  1. READ VALUE USING GTS (YAW RATE SENSOR)

    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Select the Data List using the GTS.

    5. Check the yaw rate sensor output value displayed on the GTS.
