FRONT SPEED SENSOR INSTALLATION

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  • The following procedure is for the LH side.

  • The front speed sensor rotor is a component of the front axle hub sub-assembly. If the front speed sensor rotor is malfunctioning, replace the front axle hub sub-assembly.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL FRONT SPEED SENSOR


    1. Install the front speed sensor to the steering knuckle with the bolt.

      Torque:
      8.5 N*m  { 87 kgf*cm, 75 in.*lbf }

      Note


      • Prevent foreign matter from attaching to the front speed sensor tip.

      • Firmly insert the front speed sensor body into the steering knuckle before tightening the bolt.

      • After installing the front speed sensor to the steering knuckle, make sure that there is no clearance between the front speed sensor stay and steering knuckle. Also make sure that no foreign matter is stuck between the parts.

      Set the front flexible hose to the front shock absorber assembly.

      *a Front speed sensor clamp
      B006LKF Hook

      Engage the clamp to the front shock absorber assembly.

      Note

      Do not twist the front speed sensor wire harness when installing it.

    4. Engage the 2 hooks of front speed sensor clamp to the front shock absorber assembly.

      Note


      • Do not twist the front speed sensor wire harness when installing it.

      • Make sure that the front speed sensor is positioned over the front flexible hose.

    5. Install the front speed sensor clamp with the bolt.

      Torque:
      18.5 N*m  { 189 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf }

      Install the front speed sensor clamp with the bolt.

      Torque:
      8.5 N*m  { 87 kgf*cm, 75 in.*lbf }

      Note

      Do not twist the front speed sensor wire harness when installing it.

    7. Engage the clamp to the vehicle body.

      Note

      Do not twist the front speed sensor wire harness when installing it.

      Engage the 2 clamps to the vehicle body.

      Note

      Do not twist the front speed sensor wire harness when installing it.

    9. Connect the connector.

    10. Return the front fender splash shield sub-assembly to its original position.

  2. INSTALL FRONT FENDER SPLASH SHIELD SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the front fender splash shield sub-assembly with the screw.

  3. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL

  4. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.
