FUEL INJECTOR INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY

    Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing a fuel injector assembly.

    1. Apply a light coat of gasoline or spindle oil to new O-rings, and install them to each fuel injector assembly.

      Apply a light coat of gasoline or spindle oil where the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly contacts each O-ring.

    3. Push and twist each fuel injector assembly to install it to the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.

    4. Position each fuel injector assembly connector outward.

      Note


      • Do not damage the fuel injector assembly or O-ring.

      • Make sure that the O-ring is not twisted or moved out of place when installing the fuel injector assembly.

      • After installing each fuel injector assembly, check that it turns smoothly. If not, replace the O-ring with a new one.

  2. INSTALL FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Install 6 new injector vibration insulators to the intake manifold.

    2. Place the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly with the 6 fuel injector assemblies in position on the intake manifold.

      Note

      Be careful not to drop the fuel injector assemblies when installing the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.

    3. B006OEJ

      Temporarily install the 5 bolts which are used to hold the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly to the intake manifold.

      Note

      After installing the fuel injector assemblies, check that they turn smoothly. If they are difficult to turn, reinstall them with new O-rings.

    4. Tighten the 5 bolts which are used to hold the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly to the intake manifold.

      Torque:
      21 N*m  { 214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf }

    5. Connect the 6 fuel injector assembly connectors.

  3. CONNECT FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY

    Note

    Check that there is no damage or foreign matter on the connecting parts of the fuel lines.

      Connect the fuel tube sub-assembly to the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.


      1. Align the fuel tube connector with the fuel pipe, and push them together until the fuel tube connector makes a "click" sound. If it is difficult to push the fuel pipe into the fuel tube connector, apply a small amount of clean gasoline to the tip of the fuel pipe and reinsert it.

      2. After connecting the fuel lines, check that the fuel pipe and fuel tube connector are securely connected by pulling on them.

    2. Install the No. 2 fuel pipe clamp to the fuel tube connector.

  4. INSTALL INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK ASSEMBLY

  5. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  6. INSPECT FOR FUEL LEAK

  7. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
