CAMSHAFT OIL CONTROL VALVE INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE

1. INSTALL CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY LH (for Exhaust Side of Bank 2)

   
   

   1. Apply a light coat of engine oil to a new O-ring and install it to the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly LH.

      Note

      Do not damage the O-ring.

   2. Install the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly LH to the cylinder head cover sub-assembly LH with the bolt.

      Torque:

      10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      
      

      • If the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly LH has been struck or dropped, replace it.

      • Do not allow foreign matter to contact the oil seal face of the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly LH (connecting surface with the cylinder head cover sub-assembly LH).

      • Make sure that the O-ring is not cracked or moved out of place when installing the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly LH.

   3. Connect the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly LH connector.

   4. 

      *A	Type A
      *B	Type B
      *a	Flange

      Install the wire harness clamp bracket to the cylinder head cover sub-assembly LH with the bolt.

      Torque:

      Type A

      8.0 N*m  { 82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf }

      Type B

      13 N*m  { 133 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf }

      • Type A: w/o Flange

      • Type B: w/ Flange

2. INSTALL CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY LH (for Intake Side of Bank 2)

   
   

   1. Apply a light coat of engine oil to a new O-ring and install it to the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly LH.

      Note

      Do not damage the O-ring.

   2. Install the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly LH to the cylinder head cover sub-assembly LH with the bolt.

      Torque:

      10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      
      

      • If the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly LH has been struck or dropped, replace it.

      • Do not allow foreign matter to contact the oil seal face of the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly LH (connecting surface with the cylinder head cover sub-assembly LH).

      • Make sure that the O-ring is not cracked or moved out of place when installing the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly LH.

   3. Connect the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly LH connector.

3. INSTALL CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY RH (for Exhaust Side of Bank 1)

   
   

   1. Apply a light coat of engine oil to a new O-ring and install it to the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly RH.

      Note

      Do not damage the O-ring.

   2. Install the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly RH to the cylinder head cover sub-assembly with the bolt.

      Torque:

      10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      
      

      • If the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly RH has been struck or dropped, replace it.

      • Do not allow foreign matter to contact the oil seal face of the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly RH (connecting surface with the cylinder head cover sub-assembly).

      • Make sure that the O-ring is not cracked or moved out of place when installing the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly RH.

   3. Connect the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly RH connector.

4. INSTALL CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY RH (for Intake Side of Bank 1)

   
   

   1. Apply a light coat of engine oil to a new O-ring and install it to the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly RH.

      Note

      Do not damage the O-ring.

   2. Install the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly RH to the cylinder head cover sub-assembly with the bolt.

      Torque:

      10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      
      

      • If the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly RH has been struck or dropped, replace it.

      • Do not allow foreign matter to contact the oil seal face of the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly RH (connecting surface with the cylinder head cover sub-assembly).

      • Make sure that the O-ring is not cracked or moved out of place when installing the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly RH.

   3. Connect the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly RH connector.

5. INSTALL WIRE HARNESS

   
   

   1. for Bank 2:

      
      

      1. Engage the 2 wire harness clamps to install the wire harness.

   2. for Bank 1:

      
      

      1. Engage the wire harness clamp to install the wire harness.

6. INSTALL INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK ASSEMBLY
