CAMSHAFT OIL CONTROL VALVE REMOVAL

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization, or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed, installed, or replaced during the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly removal/installation are shown below.

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK ASSEMBLY

  2. SEPARATE WIRE HARNESS


    1. for Bank 1:


      1. B006O4R

        Disengage the wire harness clamp to separate the wire harness.

    2. for Bank 2:


      1. B006PEM

        Disengage the 2 wire harness clamps to separate the wire harness.

  3. REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY RH (for Intake Side of Bank 1)


    1. B006PRA

      Disconnect the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly RH connector.

    2. Remove the bolt and camshaft timing oil control valve assembly RH from the cylinder head cover sub-assembly.

      Note


      • Do not allow foreign matter to contact the oil seal face of the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly RH (connecting surface with the cylinder head cover sub-assembly).

      • If the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly RH has been struck or dropped, replace it.

    3. B006PUN

      Remove the O-ring from the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly RH.

  4. REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY RH (for Exhaust Side of Bank 1)


    1. B006O0H

      Disconnect the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly RH connector.

    2. Remove the bolt and camshaft timing oil control valve assembly RH from the cylinder head cover sub-assembly.

      Note


      • Do not allow foreign matter to contact the oil seal face of the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly RH (connecting surface with the cylinder head cover sub-assembly).

      • If the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly RH has been struck or dropped, replace it.

    3. B006MPC

      Remove the O-ring from the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly RH.

  5. REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY LH (for Intake Side of Bank 2)


    1. B006NHK

      Disconnect the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly LH connector.

    2. Remove the bolt and camshaft timing oil control valve assembly LH from the cylinder head cover sub-assembly LH.

      Note


      • Do not allow foreign matter to contact the oil seal face of the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly LH (connecting surface with the cylinder head cover sub-assembly LH).

      • If the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly LH has been struck or dropped, replace it.

    3. B006MPC

      Remove the O-ring from the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly LH.

  6. REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY LH (for Exhaust Side of Bank 2)


    1. B006PFV

      Remove the bolt and wire harness clamp bracket from the cylinder head cover sub-assembly LH.

    2. Disconnect the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly LH connector.

    3. Remove the bolt and camshaft timing oil control valve assembly LH from the cylinder head cover sub-assembly LH.

      Note


      • Do not allow foreign matter to contact the oil seal face of the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly LH (connecting surface with the cylinder head cover sub-assembly LH).

      • If the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly LH has been struck or dropped, replace it.

    4. B006RCU

      Remove the O-ring from the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly LH.
