SFI SYSTEM PRECAUTION


  1. INITIALIZATION

    Note


    • Before replacing the ECM, refer to Service Bulletin (for Immobiliser System).

    • Perform Registration (VIN registration or frame number registration) when replacing the ECM.

    • Make sure to perform Reset Memory (CVT initialization), deceleration sensor zero point calibration and CVT oil pressure calibration when replacing the ECM or the oil pressure sensor.

    • When replacing the engine stop and start ECU with a new one, make sure to download the previous status (number of starter operations) of the old engine stop and start ECU. After replacing the engine stop and start ECU, turn the engine switch on (IG) and wait 20 seconds, then confirm that "OK" is displayed for the Data List item [Oper Prohibition (O/P Air Bleeding)]. Then upload the previous status (number of starter operations) to the engine stop and start ECU, perform external backup boost converter (eco run vehicle converter assembly) existence learning and initialization and learning of the air conditioning information and deceleration sensor 0 point.

    • When the starter assembly is replaced, the number of starter operations stored in the engine stop and start ECU must be reset.

    • When the starter assembly is replaced, "ST NO. 1 relay" and "ST NO. 2 relay" must be also replaced.

    • When the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal, initialize the following system(s) after the cable is reconnected.

  2. WHEN USING GTS

    CAUTION:

    Observe the following items for safety reasons:


    • Before using the GTS, read the instruction manual.

    • Prevent the GTS cable from being caught on the pedals, shift lever or steering wheel when driving with the GTS connected to the vehicle.

    • When driving the vehicle for testing purposes using the GTS, 2 persons are required. One is for driving the vehicle, and the other operates the GTS.
