EXHAUST PIPE REMOVAL

The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization, or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed, installed, or replaced during the front exhaust pipe assembly, front No. 3 exhaust pipe sub-assembly, exhaust forked pipe sub-assembly (TWC: Rear Catalyst) and tail exhaust pipe assembly removal/installation are shown below.

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE CENTER NO. 2 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL (for Separate Console Box Type)

  2. REMOVE CENTER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL (for Separate Console Box Type)

  3. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL BOX ASSEMBLY (for Separate Console Box Type)

  4. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY (for Separate Console Box Type)

  5. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (for Integrated Console Box Type)

  6. DISCONNECT HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR CONNECTOR (for Bank 1)

  7. REMOVE HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 1)

  8. REMOVE TAIL EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

    CAUTION:

    To prevent burns, do not touch the engine, exhaust pipe or other high temperature components while the engine is hot.

      Remove the 2 bolts and tail exhaust pipe assembly from the exhaust forked pipe sub-assembly (TWC: Rear Catalyst).

    2. Disconnect the tail exhaust pipe assembly from the 3 exhaust pipe supports.

    3. Remove the exhaust pipe gasket from the exhaust forked pipe sub-assembly (TWC: Rear Catalyst).

  9. REMOVE EXHAUST FORKED PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY (TWC: Rear Catalyst)

    CAUTION:

    To prevent burns, do not touch the engine, exhaust pipe or other high temperature components while the engine is hot.

      Remove the 2 bolts, 2 compression springs and exhaust forked pipe sub-assembly (TWC: Rear Catalyst) from the front No. 3 exhaust pipe sub-assembly.

    2. Disconnect the exhaust forked pipe sub-assembly (TWC: Rear Catalyst) from the 3 exhaust pipe supports.

    3. Remove the exhaust pipe gasket from the front No. 3 exhaust pipe sub-assembly.

  10. REMOVE FRONT NO. 3 EXHAUST PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

    CAUTION:

    To prevent burns, do not touch the engine, exhaust pipe or other high temperature components while the engine is hot.

      Remove the 2 bolts, 2 nuts and front No. 3 exhaust pipe sub-assembly.

    2. Remove the 2 exhaust pipe gaskets from the front No. 3 exhaust pipe sub-assembly.

  11. REMOVE NO. 1 EXHAUST PIPE SUPPORT BRACKET (for Lower Side)

    CAUTION:

    To prevent burns, do not touch the engine, exhaust pipe or other high temperature components while the engine is hot.

      Remove the 2 bolts and No. 1 exhaust pipe support bracket.

  12. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

    CAUTION:

    To prevent burns, do not touch the engine, exhaust pipe or other high temperature components while the engine is hot.

      Remove the 2 nuts and front exhaust pipe assembly from the exhaust manifold sub-assembly LH (TWC: Front Catalyst).

    2. Remove the exhaust pipe gasket from the front exhaust pipe assembly.
