INTAKE AIR CONTROL VALVE(for ACIS) ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT INTAKE AIR CONTROL VALVE (for ACIS)


    1. CAUTION:

      To prevent injury due to contact with an operating V-ribbed belt or cooling fan, keep your hands and clothing away from the V-ribbed belt and cooling fans when working in the engine compartment with the engine running or the engine switch on (IG).

      When using the GTS:


      1. Remove the V-bank cover sub-assembly.

        Click here

      2. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

      3. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

      4. Turn the GTS on.

      5. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Active Test / Activate the VSV for Intake Control.


        Powertrain > Engine > Active Test
        Tester Display
        Activate the VSV for Intake Control
      6. Make sure that a "click" sound is heard from the intake air control valve (for ACIS) when current flows.

        If the intake air control valve (for ACIS) does not operate, check the ACIS control circuit.

      7. Install the V-bank cover sub-assembly.

    2. When not using the GTS:


      1. Remove the V-bank cover sub-assembly.

        Click here

      2. Disconnect the intake air control valve (for ACIS) connector.

        Apply battery voltage between terminals 1 (+) and 2 (-) of the intake air control valve (for ACIS). Check that a "click" sound is heard from the intake air control valve (for ACIS).

        If the result is not as specified, replace the intake air surge tank assembly.

      4. Install the V-bank cover sub-assembly.
