FRONT DOOR LOCK INSPECTION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY LH (w/o Double Locking System)


    1. A01HEL4C01
      *a Unlock
      *b Lock
      *c

      Component without harness connected

      (Front Door Lock Assembly LH)

      Check the door lock motor operation.


      1. Apply battery voltage to the motor connector and check the operation of the door lock motor.

        OK
        Measurement Condition Specified Condition

        Battery positive (+) → Terminal 4 (L)

        Battery negative (-) → Terminal 1 (UL)

        Lock

        Battery positive (+) → Terminal 1 (UL)

        Battery negative (-) → Terminal 4 (L)

        Unlock

        If the result is not as specified, replace the front door lock assembly LH.

    2. Check the operation of the door unlock detection switch.


      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        7 (E) - 8 (LSSR) Lock 10 kΩ or higher
        Unlock Below 1 Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the front door lock assembly LH.

      *a Unlock
      *b Neutral
      *c Lock
      *d

      Component without harness connected

      Check the resistance of the lock and unlock switch (for LHD).


      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        9 (L) - 7 (E) Lock Below 1 Ω

        9 (L) - 7 (E)

        10 (UL) - 7 (E)

        Neutral 10 kΩ or higher
        10 (UL) - 7 (E) Unlock Below 1 Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the front door lock assembly LH.

  2. INSPECT FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY LH (w/ Double Locking System)

      *a Unlock
      *b Lock
      *c

      Component without harness connected

      (Front Door Lock Assembly LH)

      Check the door lock motor operation.


      1. Apply battery voltage to the motor connector and check the operation of the door lock motor.

        OK
        Measurement Condition Specified Condition

        Battery positive (+) → 4 (L)

        Battery negative (-) → 3 (UL)

        Lock

        Battery positive (+) → 3 (UL)

        Battery negative (-) → 4 (L)

        Unlock

        Battery positive (+) → 2 (DL)

        Battery negative (-) → 1 (UNDL)

        Set

        Battery positive (+) → 1 (UNDL)

        Battery negative (-) → 2 (DL)

        Unset

        Tech Tips


        • Move the door lock motor to the lock position and set the double locking system. Check that the doors cannot be unlocked by operating the control cable.

        • Move the door lock motor to the lock position and unset the double locking system. Check that the doors can be unlocked by operating the control cable.

        If the result is not as specified, replace the front door lock assembly LH.

    2. Check the operation of the door unlock detection switch and double lock position switch.


      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        8 (LSSR) - 7 (E) Lock 10 kΩ or higher
        8 (LSSR) - 7 (E) Unlock Below 1 Ω
        6 (DLSR) - 5 (E) Unset 10 kΩ or higher
        6 (DLSR) - 5 (E) Set Below 1 Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the front door lock assembly LH.

      *b Neutral
      *c Lock

      Component without harness connected

      Check the resistance of the lock and unlock switch (for LHD).


      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        9 (L) - 7 (E) Lock Below 1 Ω

        9 (L) - 7 (E)

        10 (UL) - 7 (E)

        Neutral 10 kΩ or higher
        10 (UL) - 7 (E) Unlock Below 1 Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the front door lock assembly LH.

  3. INSPECT FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY RH (w/o Double Locking System)

      *a Unlock
      *b Lock
      *c

      Component without harness connected

      Check the door lock motor operation.


      1. Apply battery voltage to the motor connector and check the operation of the door lock motor.

        OK
        Measurement Condition Specified Condition

        Battery positive (+) → 4 (L)

        Battery negative (-) → 1 (UL)

        Lock

        Battery positive (+) → 1 (UL)

        Battery negative (-) → 4 (L)

        Unlock

        If the result is not as specified, replace the front door lock assembly RH.

    2. Check the operation of the door unlock detection switch.


      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        7 (LSSR) - 8 (E) Lock 10 kΩ or higher
        7 (LSSR) - 8 (E) Unlock Below 1 Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the front door lock assembly RH.

      Check the operation of the door key lock and unlock switch (for RHD).


      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        6 (L) - 8 (E) Held to lock side Below 1 Ω

        6 (L) - 8 (E)

        5 (UL) - 8 (E)

        Neutral 10 kΩ or higher
        5 (UL) - 8 (E) Held to unlock side Below 1 Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the front door lock assembly RH.

  4. INSPECT FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY RH (w/ Double Locking System)

      Check the door lock motor operation.


      1. Apply battery voltage to the motor connector and check the operation of the door lock motor.

        Battery positive (+) → 1 (UL)

        Battery negative (-) → 2 (L)

        Set

        Battery positive (+) → 3 (UNDL)

        Battery negative (-) → 4 (DL)

        Unset

        Tech Tips

        If the result is not as specified, replace the front door lock assembly RH.

        If the result is not as specified, replace the front door lock assembly RH.
