DESCRIPTION

The No. 2 ultrasonic sensor (front corner sensor RH) is installed on the front bumper. The clearance warning ECU assembly detects obstacles based on signals received from the No. 2 ultrasonic sensor (front corner sensor RH). If the No. 2 ultrasonic sensor (front corner sensor RH) has an open circuit or other malfunction, it will not function normally.

Note

If DTCs are output after repairs, turn the engine switch on (IG) and turn the combination switch assembly (clearance sonar main switch) on. Then clear the DTCs.

  1. CHECK FOR DTC


    1. Clear the DTCs.

    2. Check for DTCs.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 2 ULTRASONIC SENSOR (FRONT CORNER SENSOR RH) - CLEARANCE WARNING ECU ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the I20 clearance warning ECU assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the B1 No. 2 ultrasonic sensor (front corner sensor RH) connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I20-19 (S5) - B1-2 (S) Always Below 1 Ω
      I20-20 (E5) - B1-1 (E) Always Below 1 Ω
      I20-19 (S5) or B1-2 (S) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I20-20 (E5) or B1-1 (E) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  3. INSPECT NO. 2 ULTRASONIC SENSOR (FRONT CORNER SENSOR RH)


    1. Remove the No. 2 ultrasonic sensor (front corner sensor RH).
