C13A4/32 Open or Short in Release Switch Circuit

All of following conditions are met:

  1. Engine switch on (IG) or electric parking brake switch (integration control and panel assembly) pushed to release side with engine switch off.

  2. Terminal REL1 voltage is less than 1.5 V* or more than 9.4 V*; or terminal REL2 voltage is less than 1.5 V* or more than 9.4 V*

  3. Problem occurs for approx. 1 sec.

Tech Tips

*: When battery voltage is 12 V

  • Electric parking brake switch (Integration control and panel assembly)

  • Wire harness or connector

  • Parking brake ECU assembly

Yes An electric parking brake system malfunction is displayed on the multi-information display.

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Note

  • Before disconnecting connectors or fuses, turn the engine switch off and wait 20 seconds or more.

  • When the electric parking brake switch (integration control and panel assembly) is pushed and held for 1 second or more without being pushed fully to the release side, one of the 2 linked contacts may turn on while the other one turns off causing this DTC to be stored (system is not malfunctioning).

  • When replacing the parking brake ECU assembly, operate the electric parking brake switch (integration control and panel assembly), as the parking brake indicator light (red) blinks when the engine switch is first turned on (IG).
