VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM VSC OFF Switch Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The skid control ECU assembly is connected to the combination meter assembly via CAN communication.

Pressing the VSC OFF switch turns off TRC operation, and pressing and holding this switch turns off TRC and VSC operation. If TRC and VSC operations are turned off, the TRC OFF message will be displayed on the multi-information display and the VSC OFF indicator light will come on.

  1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM


    1. Check if CAN communication system DTCs are output.

      for LHD: Click here

      for RHD: Click here

  2. CHECK IF SKID CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY CONNECTOR IS SECURELY CONNECTED


    1. Check if the skid control ECU assembly (brake actuator assembly) connector is securely connected.

  3. READ VALUE USING GTS (TRC/VSC OFF MODE)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Select the Data List on the GTS.

  4. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS (MULTI-INFORMATION DISPLAY AND VSC OFF INDICATOR LIGHT)


    1. Select the Active Test on the GTS.

  5. INSPECT INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY


    1. Turn the engine switch off.

    2. Remove the VSC OFF switch (integration control and panel assembly).

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY - INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the A36 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

  7. INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY


    1. Turn the engine switch off.

    2. Perform the Active Test of the combination meter assembly (meter CPU) using the GTS.
