NAME PLATE INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL SYMBOL EMBLEM

    Tech Tips

    When installing the symbol emblem, heat the back door outside garnish sub-assembly and symbol emblem using a heat light.

    Standard
    Item Temperature
    Back Door Outside Garnish Sub-assembly 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)
    Symbol Emblem 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)

    Note

    Do not heat the back door outside garnish sub-assembly or symbol emblem excessively.


    1. Clean the back door panel surface.


      1. Using a heat light, heat the back door outside garnish sub-assembly surface.

      2. Remove the double-sided tape from back door outside garnish sub-assembly.

      3. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

      Install a new symbol emblem.


      1. Using a heat light, heat the back door outside garnish sub-assembly and a new symbol emblem.

      2. Remove the peeling paper from the face of the symbol emblem.

        Tech Tips

        After removing the peeling paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

      3. Align the boss positions and install the symbol emblem.

        Tech Tips

        Press the symbol emblem firmly to install it.

  2. INSTALL BACK DOOR NAME PLATE

    Tech Tips

    When installing the back door name plate, heat the back door panel and back door name plate using a heat light.

    Standard
    Item Temperature
    Back Door Panel 40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)
    Back Door Name Plate 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)

    Note

    Do not heat the back door panel or back door name plate excessively.


    1. Clean the back door panel surface.


      1. Using a heat light, heat the back door panel surface.

      2. Remove the double-sided tape from the back door panel.

      3. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

      Install a new back door name plate.


      1. Using a heat light, heat the back door panel and a new back door name plate.

      2. Remove the peeling paper from the face of the back door name plate.

        Tech Tips

      3. Install the back door name plate in the position shown in the illustration.

        Tech Tips

        Press the back door name plate firmly to install it.

        B 34.1 mm (1.34 in.)
        C 46.6 mm (1.83 in.)
        D 46.6 mm (1.83 in.)

  3. INSTALL BACK DOOR NO. 2 NAME PLATE

    Tech Tips

    When installing the back door No. 2 name plate, heat the back door panel and back door No. 2 name plate using a heat light.

    Back Door Panel 40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)
    Back Door No. 2 Name Plate 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)

    Note

    Do not heat the back door panel or back door No. 2 name plate excessively.


    1. Clean the back door panel surface.


      1. Using a heat light, heat the back door panel surface.

      2. Remove the double-sided tape from the back door panel.

      3. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

      Install a new back door No. 2 name plate.


      1. Using a heat light, heat the back door panel and a new back door No. 2 name plate.

      2. Remove the peeling paper from the face of the back door No. 2 name plate.

        After removing the peeling paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

      3. Install the back door No. 2 name plate in the position shown in the illustration.

        Tech Tips

        Press the back door No. 2 name plate firmly to install it.

        I 6.12 mm (0.24 in.)
        J 2.09 mm (0.08 in.)

  4. INSTALL FRONT FENDER NO. 1 NAME PLATE

    Tech Tips

    When installing the front fender No. 1 name plate, heat the vehicle body and front fender No. 1 name plate using a heat light.

    Vehicle Body 40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)
    Front Fender No. 1 Name Plate 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)

    Note

    Do not heat the vehicle body or front fender No. 1 name plate excessively.


    1. Clean the vehicle body surface.


      1. Using a heat light, heat the vehicle body surface.

      2. Remove the double-sided tape from the vehicle body.

      3. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

    2. Install a new front fender No. 1 name plate.


      1. Using a heat light, heat the vehicle body and a new front fender No. 1 name plate.

      2. Remove the peeling paper from the face of the front fender No. 1 name plate.

        Tech Tips

        After removing the peeling paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

      3. Install the front fender No. 1 name plate in the position shown in the illustration.

        Tech Tips

        Press the front fender No. 1 name plate firmly to install it.
