REAR BUMPER DISASSEMBLY

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE KICK DOOR CONTROL BRACKET (w/ Hands Free Power Back Door)

  2. REMOVE KICK DOOR CONTROL SENSOR (w/ Hands Free Power Back Door)

    Click here

  3. REMOVE REAR FOG LIGHT SET (w/ Rear Fog Light)


    1. for 8AR-FTS:

      Click here

    2. for 3ZR-FAE:

      Click here

  4. REMOVE FOG LIGHT COVER LH (w/ Rear Fog Light)

    Click here

  5. REMOVE NO. 2 LUGGAGE ROOM WIRE (for 8AR-FTS)


    1. w/o Rear Fog Light:


      1. w/ LEXUS Parking Assist-sensor System:

        Disconnect the 4 connectors.

        Note

        Do not apply excessive loads to the retainer. Otherwise, it may peel off.

        Tech Tips

        Disconnect the connector while pressing the ultrasonic sensor with your hand.

      2. w/o Hands Free Power Back Door:

        Detach the 7 clamps and remove the No. 2 luggage room wire.

      3. w/ Hands Free Power Back Door:

        Detach the 8 clamps and remove the No. 2 luggage room wire.

    2. w/ Rear Fog Light:


      1. w/o LEXUS Parking Assist-sensor System, Hands Free Power Back Door:

        Detach the 3 clamps and remove the No. 2 luggage room wire.

      2. w/ LEXUS Parking Assist-sensor System:

        Disconnect the 4 connectors.

        Note

        Do not apply excessive loads to the retainer. Otherwise, it may peel off.

        Tech Tips

        Disconnect the connector while pressing the ultrasonic sensor with your hand.

      3. w/o Hands Free Power Back Door:

        Detach the 9 clamps and remove the No. 2 luggage room wire.

      4. w/ Hands Free Power Back Door:

        Detach the 10 clamps and remove the No. 2 luggage room wire.

  6. REMOVE NO. 2 LUGGAGE ROOM WIRE (for 3ZR-FAE)


    1. w/o Rear Fog Light:


      1. w/ LEXUS Parking Assist-sensor System:

        Disconnect the 4 connectors.

        Note

        Do not apply excessive loads to the retainer. Otherwise, it may peel off.

        Tech Tips

        Disconnect the connector while pressing the ultrasonic sensor with your hand.

      2. w/o Hands Free Power Back Door:

        Detach the 6 clamps and remove the No. 2 luggage room wire.

      3. w/ Hands Free Power Back Door:

        Detach the 10 clamps and remove the No. 2 luggage room wire.

    2. w/ Rear Fog Light:


      1. w/o LEXUS Parking Assist-sensor System, Hands Free Power Back Door:

        Detach the 5 clamps and remove the No. 2 luggage room wire.

      2. w/ LEXUS Parking Assist-sensor System:

        Disconnect the 4 connectors.

        Note

        Do not apply excessive loads to the retainer. Otherwise, it may peel off.

        Tech Tips

        Disconnect the connector while pressing the ultrasonic sensor with your hand.

      3. w/o Hands Free Power Back Door:

        Detach the 10 clamps and remove the No. 2 luggage room wire.

      4. w/ Hands Free Power Back Door:

        Detach the 14 clamps and remove the No. 2 luggage room wire.

  7. REMOVE REAR CORNER ULTRASONIC SENSOR (w/ LEXUS Parking Assist-sensor System)

  8. REMOVE REAR CENTER ULTRASONIC SENSOR (w/ LEXUS Parking Assist-sensor System)

    Click here

  9. REMOVE REAR CORNER ULTRASONIC SENSOR RETAINER (w/ LEXUS Parking Assist-sensor System)

  10. REMOVE REAR CENTER ULTRASONIC SENSOR RETAINER (w/ LEXUS Parking Assist-sensor System)

  11. REMOVE REAR BUMPER LOWER COVER


    1. for 8AR-FTS:


      1. Remove the 4 screws.

      2. Remove the 2 clips.

      3. Remove the 8 outside moulding retainers.

      4. Detach the 4 claws and remove the rear bumper lower cover.

    2. for 3ZR-FAE:


      1. Remove the 4 screws.

      2. Remove the 2 clips.

      3. Remove the 8 outside moulding retainers.

      4. Detach the 4 claws and remove the rear bumper lower cover.

  12. REMOVE REAR BUMPER EXTENSION SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (for 8AR-FTS)


    1. B0058D2

      Remove the 4 screws.

    2. Remove the 4 grommets and the rear bumper extension sub-assembly LH.

  13. REMOVE REAR BUMPER EXTENSION SUB-ASSEMBLY RH (for 8AR-FTS)

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  14. REMOVE REAR BUMPER EXTENSION (for 8AR-FTS)

      Remove the 2 screws.

    2. Remove the 2 clips.

    3. Detach the 6 claws, 2 guides and remove the rear bumper extension.

  15. REMOVE REFLEX REFLECTOR ASSEMBLY LH


    1. B0057QR

      Remove the screw.

    2. Detach the guide and remove the reflex reflector assembly LH.

  16. REMOVE REFLEX REFLECTOR ASSEMBLY RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  17. REMOVE REAR BUMPER CORNER EXTENSION RH (for 3ZR-FAE)

      Remove the 2 screws and the rear bumper corner extension RH.

  18. REMOVE REAR BUMPER LOWER SIDE RETAINER LH (for 3ZR-FAE)

      Remove the 2 screws.

    2. Detach the 4 claws and guide and remove the rear bumper lower side retainer LH.

  19. REMOVE REAR BUMPER LOWER SIDE RETAINER RH (for 3ZR-FAE)

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  20. REMOVE REAR BUMPER LOWER RETAINER LH (for 3ZR-FAE)

      Remove the 3 screws.

    2. Detach the 2 guides and remove the rear bumper lower retainer LH.

  21. REMOVE REAR BUMPER LOWER RETAINER RH (for 3ZR-FAE)

      Remove the 2 screws.

    2. Detach the 2 guides and remove the rear bumper lower retainer RH.

  22. REMOVE NO. 1 MOULDING TAPE

    Tech Tips


    • When removing the No. 1 moulding tape, heat the rear bumper cover and No. 1 moulding tape using a heat light.

    • Use the same procedure described for the other side.

    Standard
    Item Temperature
    Rear Bumper Cover 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)
    No. 1 Moulding Tape 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)

    Note

    Do not heat the rear bumper cover and No. 1 moulding tape excessively.

      Remove the No. 1 moulding tape.

  23. REMOVE REAR BUMPER PAD

    Tech Tips


    • When removing the rear bumper pad, heat the rear bumper cover and rear bumper pad using a heat light.

    • Use the same procedure described for the other side.

    Standard
    Item Temperature
    Rear Bumper Cover 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)
    Rear Bumper Pad 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)

    Note

    Do not heat the rear bumper cover and rear bumper pad excessively.
