DYNAMIC RADAR CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK

INPUT SIGNAL CHECK

1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

2. Check the cruise control main switch using the Data List function of the GTS (ON/OFF, -SET, +RES, CANCEL and MODE).

INSPECT MODE SWITCH

*a	ON/OFF
*b	MODE

1. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

2. Turn the cruise control system on using the cruise control main switch (ON/OFF). Then push the cruise control main switch to MODE for 1 second or more to switch to the constant speed control mode.

3. 

   *a	Cruise Control Indicator Light (Vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode)
   *b	Cruise Control Indicator Light (Constant speed control mode)

   Check that the cruise control indicator light (vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode) goes off and the cruise control indicator light (constant speed control mode) illuminates.

   Note

   Do not push any other switches before pushing the cruise control main switch to MODE. If another switch is pushed, turn the cruise control system off and repeat the procedure above.

   Tech Tips

   If a malfunction is detected, turn the engine switch off and repeat the procedure above.

INSPECT STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY

1. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

2. Turn the cruise control system on using the cruise control main switch (ON/OFF).

3. 

   *A	w/o Lane Departure Alert System
   *B	w/ Lane Departure Alert System
   *1	Distance Control Switch

   Press the steering pad switch assembly (distance control switch).

4. Check that the indication of the vehicle-to-vehicle distance, which is shown on the multi-information display in the combination meter assembly changes from long to middle to short in that order.

   

   *1	Long	*2	Middle
   *3	Short	-	-

   Tech Tips

   Long is automatically selected each time the engine switch is on (IG).
