THROTTLE BODY REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY

  2. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT

    Click here

  3. REMOVE NO. 2 CYLINDER HEAD COVER

      Hold the rear of the No. 2 cylinder head cover and raise it to detach the 2 clips on the rear of the No. 2 cylinder head cover. Continue to raise the No. 2 cylinder head cover to detach the 2 clips on the front of the No. 2 cylinder head cover and remove the No. 2 cylinder head cover.

      Note

      Attempting to detach both front and rear clips at the same time may cause the No. 2 cylinder head cover to break.

  4. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP AND HOSE

      Disconnect the mass air flow meter sub-assembly connector.

    2. Detach the wire harness clamp from the air cleaner cap sub-assembly.

      Detach the 2 clamps and remove the air cleaner cap sub-assembly from the air cleaner case sub-assembly.

    4. A01HJV8

      Slide the clamp and disconnect the PCV hose from the cylinder head cover sub-assembly.

    5. Lock the hose clamp and disconnect the air cleaner cap and hose from the throttle body assembly.

  5. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY

      *1 Water By-pass Hose
      *2 No. 2 Water By-pass Hose

      Disconnect the throttle body assembly connector.

    2. Slide the 2 clamps and disconnect the water by-pass hose and No. 2 water by-pass hose from the throttle body assembly.

      *b for Type B

      for Type A:

      Remove the 2 bolts, 2 nuts and throttle body assembly.

    4. for Type B:

      Remove the 4 bolts and throttle body assembly.

      Remove the gasket from the intake manifold.
