THROTTLE BODY ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT THROTTLE BODY WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY

    Note

    Be sure to check functions after cleaning and replacing the throttle body with motor assembly.


    1. After installing the throttle body with motor assembly to the vehicle, turn the engine switch on (IG) without operating the accelerator pedal.

      Note

      If the accelerator pedal is operated, perform the above steps again.

    2. Connect the DLC3 to the GTS and clear the DTCs.


    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Data List / Engine Speed.


      Powertrain > Engine > Data List
      Tester Display
      Engine Speed

    4. Start the engine and check that the MIL is not illuminated. After the engine is warmed up, check that the idle speed is within the specified range when the A/C is switched off.

      Standard
      w/ Canister Pump Module 700 to 850 rpm
      w/o Canister Pump Module 700 to 800 rpm

      Note


      • Turn all the electrical systems and the A/C off.

      • Be sure to perform this step with all accessories off.

      • Make sure that the shift lever is in P on N.

    5. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Data List / Throttle Sensor Position.


      Powertrain > Engine > Data List
      Tester Display
      Throttle Sensor Position

    6. Depress the accelerator pedal. When the throttle valve is fully opened, check that the value of "Throttle Sensor Position" is within the specification.

      Standard throttle valve opening percentage
      60% or more

    7. Perform a drive test, and check for any abnormal feeling in the engine speed.
