REAR DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER ASSEMBLY REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. DRAIN DIFFERENTIAL OIL

  2. REMOVE REAR WHEEL

    Click here

  3. REMOVE TAIL EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY


    1. for 8AR-FTS:

  4. REMOVE PROPELLER WITH CENTER BEARING SHAFT ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  5. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  6. REMOVE DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER MASS DAMPER (for 8AR-FTS)

      Remove the 2 bolts and differential carrier mass damper from the rear No. 2 differential support.

  7. REMOVE REAR DIFFERENTIAL DYNAMIC DAMPER LH (for 3ZR-FAE)

      Remove the 2 bolts and rear differential dynamic damper LH from the rear No. 2 differential support.

  8. INSTALL REAR DIFFERENTIAL DYNAMIC DAMPER RH (for 3ZR-FAE)

      Remove the 2 bolts and rear differential dynamic damper RH from the rear No. 1 differential support.

  9. REMOVE REAR DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER ASSEMBLY

    Note


    • When removing the rear differential carrier assembly, do not damage the installation surface.

    • When removing the rear differential carrier assembly, the remaining oil may leak out.

    • Hold the rear differential carrier assembly so that it does not tilt or fall.

    • Make sure to support the rear differential carrier assembly while removing each bolt.

      Using a transmission jack, support the rear differential carrier assembly.

    2. B005ANS

      Disconnect the connector from the rear differential carrier assembly.

    3. Disconnect the 2 harness clamps from the wire harness clamp bracket.

    4. Disconnect the breather tube from the rear differential carrier assembly.

    5. Loosen the 7 bolts securing the rear differential carrier assembly.

    6. Remove the 3 bolts, nut and rear No. 1 differential support.

    7. Remove the bolt and disconnect the rear differential support from the rear suspension member sub-assembly.

      B0059IK Right side of the vehicle

      Remove the 2 bolts, slide the rear differential carrier assembly slightly toward the vehicle right side and disconnect the rear No. 2 differential support.

    9. Temporarily install the rear differential support to the rear suspension member sub-assembly with the bolt.

      Tech Tips

      When removing the transmission coupling assembly, secure the rear differential carrier assembly in place.

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  12. REMOVE WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET

      Remove the bolt and wire harness clamp bracket from the rear differential carrier assembly.

  13. REMOVE REAR DIFFERENTIAL SUPPORT


    1. B005BBI

      Remove the 4 bolts and rear differential support from the rear differential carrier assembly.
