REAR DIFFERENTIAL SIDE GEAR SHAFT OIL SEAL REPLACEMENT

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE REAR DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER ASSEMBLY

  2. REMOVE REAR DRIVE SHAFT OIL SEAL LH


    1. A01HDUVN01

      Using SST, tap out the rear drive shaft oil seal LH.

  3. INSTALL REAR DRIVE SHAFT OIL SEAL RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  4. INSTALL REAR DRIVE SHAFT OIL SEAL LH


    1. A01HHDUC02
      *a 6.7 to 7.7 mm (0.264 to 0.303 in.)

      Using SST and a hammer, tap a new rear drive shaft oil seal LH into the rear differential carrier assembly and differential side bearing retainer according to the specification.

      09223-00010
      Standard oil seal tapping amount
      6.7 to 7.7 mm (0.264 to 0.303 in.)

      Note


      • Tap the oil seal uniformly so that the oil seal is straight.

      • Do not tap the oil seal in too far.

  5. INSTALL REAR DRIVE SHAFT OIL SEAL RH
