DESCRIPTION

The ECM and engine stop and start ECU send and receive signals via CAN communication.

If a communication error occurs between the ECM and engine stop and start ECU, the ECM stores this DTC.

Both conditions are met for 1.16 sec. or more (1-trip detection logic):


  • Engine switch is on (IG)

  • No communication between the ECM and engine stop and start ECU

  • ECM

  • Engine Stop and Start ECU

  • CAN Communication System

 Does not come on DTC stored SAE: U1103

PROCEDURE


  1. CLEAR DTC AND PERFORM ROAD TEST


    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Click here


      Powertrain > Transmission > Clear DTCs

      Tech Tips

      Write down the currently output DTCs before clearing them.

    2. Start the engine and drive the vehicle at a low speed.

  2. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (DTC U110387)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Transmission / Trouble Codes.


      Powertrain > Transmission > Trouble Codes

    5. Read the DTCs using the GTS.
