DESCRIPTION

The battery supplies electricity to the ECM even when the engine switch is off. This power allows the ECM to store data such as DTC history and freeze frame data. If the battery voltage falls below a minimum level, the memory is cleared and the ECM determines that there is a malfunction in the power supply circuit. When the engine is next started, the ECM will illuminate the MIL and store this DTC.

If DTC P056014 is set, the ECM does not store other DTCs.

  1. INSPECT BATTERY


    1. Inspect that the battery is not depleted.

  2. CHECK BATTERY TERMINAL


    1. Check that the battery terminals are not loose or corroded.

    REPAIR OR REPLACE BATTERY TERMINAL

  3. CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE (POWER SOURCE OF ECM)

      Disconnect the ECM connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

  4. CHECK WHETHER DTC OUTPUT RECURS (DTC P056014)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Clear the DTCs.

      Click here


      Powertrain > Transmission > Clear DTCs

    5. Turn the engine switch off and wait for at least 30 seconds.

    6. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    7. Turn the GTS on.

    8. Wait 5 seconds or more.

    9. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Transmission / Trouble Codes.


      Powertrain > Transmission > Trouble Codes

    10. Read the DTCs using the GTS.
