AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE SYSTEM SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

  1. SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

    1. The Electronic Controlled Automatic Transaxle (ECT) is an automatic transaxle that has its shift timing electronically controlled by the ECM. The ECM detects electrical signals that indicate engine and driving conditions, and controls the shift point based on driver's habits and road conditions. As a result, fuel efficiency and transaxle performance are improved.

Shift shock has been reduced by controlling the engine and transaxle simultaneously.

In addition, the ECT has features such as:

      • Diagnostic function.

      • Fail-safe function for use when a malfunction occurs.

  2. OIL PUMP ASSEMBLY WITH MOTOR OPERATION CONTROL (w/ Stop and Start System)

    1. When the engine is stopped automatically by the stop and start system, the engine stop and start ECU operates the oil pump assembly with motor installed to the automatic transaxle to produce optimal ATF pressure for enhanced response of the automatic transaxle assembly and smooth start-off when the engine is automatically restarted.
