ADAPTIVE VARIABLE SUSPENSION SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
The absorber control ECU receives signals from the sensors and switches to control the absorber control actuator (shock absorber assembly). It uses these signals to optimally control the damping force in accordance with the driving conditions and road conditions.
| Component | Function | |
|---|---|---|
| Shock absorber assembly | Absorber control actuator | Changes the damping force. |
| Front acceleration sensor assembly LH | Detects the vertical acceleration of the left front area of the body. | |
| Front acceleration sensor assembly RH | Detects the vertical acceleration of the right front area of the body. | |
| Absorber control ECU (built into rear acceleration sensor) |
|
|
| Airbag ECU assembly (built into acceleration sensor) | Detects the vehicle's longitudinal and lateral acceleration and deceleration. | |
| Spiral with sensor cable sub-assembly | Steering angle sensor | Detects the steering direction and the angle of the steering wheel. |
| Brake actuator assembly | Skid control ECU |
|
| ECM |
|
|
| Driving support ECU assembly* | Sends the damping force cooperative control signal to the absorber control ECU. | |
| Integration control and panel assembly | Drive mode select switch | Switches the driving mode. |
| Combination meter assembly | Multi-information display | Indicates the selected condition of the drive mode select switch. |
