PROCEDURE
INSPECT INTAKE AIR CONTROL VALVE (for ACIS)
Inspect the diaphragm.
Using a vacuum pump, apply a vacuum of 60 kPa (450 mmHg, 17.7 in. Hg) or more to the diaphragm chamber. Check that there is no change in vacuum after 1 minute.
If the result is not as specified, replace the intake manifold.
Check that the actuator rod operates when vacuum is applied.
If the actuator rod does not operate when vacuum is applied, replace the intake manifold.
INSPECT VACUUM TANK AND NO. 1 CHECK VALVE
Disconnect the vacuum hose from the No. 1 check valve.
Using a vacuum pump, apply vacuum to the No. 1 check valve. Check that there is no change in vacuum after 1 minute.
If the result is not as specified, replace the No. 1 check valve.
Connect the vacuum hose to the No. 1 check valve.
Using a vacuum pump, apply a vacuum of 60 kPa (450 mmHg, 17.7 in. Hg) or higher to the vacuum tank. Check that there is no change in vacuum after 1 minute.
If the result is not as specified, replace the intake manifold.
