DESCRIPTION

The fuel injector assembly are located on the intake manifold. They inject fuel into the cylinders based on signals from the ECM.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE (POWER SOURCE OF FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY)

    1. Disconnect the fuel injector assembly connector.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D24-1 - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      D10-1 - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      D23-1 - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      D9-1 - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

  2. INSPECT FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY (INJECTION AND VOLUME)


    1. Inspect the fuel injector assembly.

      Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing the fuel injector assembly.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY - ECM)


    1. Disconnect the fuel injector assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the ECM connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D24-2 - D1-21 (#10) Always Below 1 Ω
      D10-2 - D1-18 (#20) Always Below 1 Ω
      C23-2 - D1-19 (#30) Always Below 1 Ω
      C9-2 - D1-20 (#40) Always Below 1 Ω
      D24-2 or D1-21 (#10) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      D10-2 or D1-18 (#20) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      C23-2 or D1-19 (#30) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      C9-2 or D1-20 (#40) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 1 INTEGRATION RELAY - FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the fuel injector assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the No. 1 integration relay connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1D-8 - D24-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      1D-8 - D10-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      1D-8 - D23-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      1D-8 - D9-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      1D-8 or D24-1 - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      1D-8 or D10-1 - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      1D-8 or D23-1 - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      1D-8 or D9-1 - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
